A restricted free agent, Kessel was reportedly looking for a deal in the neighbourhood of $4-5 million a season, while the Bruins, who are right up against the league mandated $56.8 million salary cap, could not afford to sign the Madison, Wisconsin native to the terms he desired.

Why would they pay a 1 way player that kind of money? Obviously the money is the main issue, but if Kessel was a stud two way player they would have had no issue writing the check.

I agree with the Kaberele deal. It sucked for the Bruins. I didn't like it when it was being talked about and I absolutely don't like sending out Colbourne. Every player on the Bruins works hard to get back and are willing to play in the corners etc. Name me one player on the team who doesn't.
