    Pacquiao finally mans up (sorta)...

    http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/100115.html
The much-anticipated super-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jnr has taken a significant step closer after Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, said his charge is willing to agree to random drug testing - but not by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

Negotiations have previously collapsed over the timing of sampling, with Pacquiao refusing to accept Mayweather's demands of Olympic-style probes right up until fight night.

But while Arum's revelation does fuel hopes of a bout materialising, the situation is clouded by Pacquiao's decision to file a defamation lawsuit against Mayweather, which has done nothing to quell the animosity between the camps.

"We have agreed in the Pacquiao camp to unlimited random testing done by a responsible, neutral organization," Arum told Yahoo. "We don't believe USADA is a neutral organization.

"I don't think anybody's test is as vigorous as the test administered by the Olympic Organization. And we can arrange for the Olympic Organization to handle the test under the supervision of the Athletic commission respective of the state where the fight is going to be held.

"We're not going to make this into a cowboy situation. We have an organization that has no authority [USADA] and even does it [blood testing] without reporting to an organization that is responsible for the conduct of the fight.

"We are focusing on Pacquiao v Marquez fight [on November 12]. And if Pacquiao beats Marquez again and then if Mayweather says he's agreeable to us, then we can have the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight next year."

"Sometimes I just want to be with my family and watch movie and eat some popcorn. But when I step on the mat I know there is no other place I'd rather be." - Marcelo Garcia

If they can actually put this fight together, it will easily do over 2 million PPV buys.

            Is this 2008 ?

Same "if" crap for how many years now ?
Its the only fight in boxing thats mattered in eons and they still cant get it done. Both have other opponents already lined up.

What else is new. Wake me when the ring intros are over.

Well this is a big step in conquering Mayweather's bitch assness. If he still finds a way to make an issue that we just flat out know hes a pussy and doesnt want the fight. The longer this goes on the more anticipated it will be when its actually signed. The fact that its BEEN the only fight that matters is only going to make people more interested.

I still don't see how people blame Mayweather for this. All Pacquiao had to do is submit to a drug test, but its taken him years to finally man up and agree to have his blood drawn. They've probably found some sort of loophole though, seems odd that they want to pick who administers the test.

since this fight has been talked about how many times has PBF retired? Pac keeps fighting, Mayweather wants nothing to do with this fight

Hes fought on and off, because there's no one else for him to really fight. If the only match that matters can't happen because a professional athlete refuses to take a drug test, what else do you expect him to do?

                        LOL

I can't believe anyone would fall for PBF's bullshit. They knew all along Pac would never agree to blood being drawn, so that's why they threw that demand on the table. You say all Pac has to do is agree to a drug test, but I say all PBF has to do is waive that goofy demand and they could have fought a long time ago.

Pac keeps fighting all comers, PBF keeps hiding behind goofy demands. If he wanted this fight, it would have happened.

He never refused to take a drug test, he refused PBF's ridiculous demands for wacky drug testing above and beyond what the athletic commissions want.

what's goofy about making sure someone is clean, everyone else Floyd fought has done it. What makes Pacquiao special whereas he doesn't have to do what other world-class athletes are willing do??

lmao @ he's fought all comers. He hasn't fought Floyd! No one cares that hes destroyed fighters everyone knew he would beat.
