Noted in the Observer:

Jon Jones and company officials are working in an attempt to bolster his image. There is an awareness that there is a perception of Jones as cocky or phony. The whole deal is that even though Rashad Evans is a natural heel, a lot of people see his side of the “story.” Jones was the one who agreed to take the fight after they had an agreement not to fight, while Evans was willing to move weight divisions and not try look for a title shot at Jones.

Plus, confirmation that Alvarez has 1 fight left on his deal after the Aoki fight...which is why he chose not to go into a tournament.

Lombard is a free agent right now although Rebney can match any offer (not sure how long that lasts).

The disappointing fact that MMA is illegal in NY is back in the news.

As has been the case in recent years, the NY Senate approved the bill legalizing the sport this week. It's now up to the Assembly to bring it to the floor, and vote on it (if they were to approve it, it would go to Gov. Cuomo who would definitely sign it into law). For years, it's stalled here and they only have until late June to get to it.
