Its unfortunate that I dont get excited to see GSP fight a guy like Alves (Who is a great fighter) because I just feel like Thiago has no shot and it'll be more GSP domination.

Intresting POV. Of all the guys left for GSP, Alves is the one I am most excited for. Alves scares me. He has great takedown defence and killer strikes. I think GSP can win (mind you, I think GSP could beat Godzilla), but this is going to be his toughest test IMO

Alves is a legit threat to GSP, if he can stop a couple takedowns he might put GSP to sleep with a couple shots

I dont think it will happen, but Alves is big time

Unlike the guys the UFC is throwing at Silva, GSP is taking on the cream of the crop and dominating

Hopefully Alves can make weight, he is as big as GSP if not bigger and has missed weight in the past

Yeah thats the one part about Alves that would scare me if I was GSP, Alves is absolutely built like a tank. Hes just stacked large for a WW, no question. Dont get me wrong either, I respect Alves, I think hes a great fighter.. his domination of Matt Hughes is huge for a young fighter, regardless of the fact that Hughes was well past his prime. It will be tougher for GSP to dominate the way he did to BJ, but I can see a Jon Fitch like performance. Alves scraps for 4-5 rounds but GSP has the considerable upper-hand throughout the fight. Im just hoping for a good fight.
