It's an exhibition.
He's quieted all doubters by beating Arlovski & Sylvia with shockingly little effort. That should put to rest the issue of beating top comp after his couple of year stretch where he was facing stiffs like Hong Man & the much smaller Lindland.
To me, he has nothing to prove. He destroys everyone he faces, and faces the best comp available. It's not like he's dodging Barnett, Affliction just needs to settle on a date.
If/when he beats Barnett, there is nothing left. A red hot Jeff Monson? Someone like Bigfoot Silva (it would have to be in Japan)? He'd have to wait for someone to leave UFC. I don't blame him one bit for not caving to White, he has nothing to prove at this point until he's out of opponents. He destroyed the two dominant UFC heavies of the modern era.Comment

For Canadian MMA fans (and all others with HDNet) Bobby Lashley has signed to fight for MFC in Edmoton against a Frank Shamrock product in early May.
Unfortunately, I don't think thats worth it to drive to Edmonton, pay $100 for a ticket and other such expenses. But others might, so there ya goComment

Yah, he is 2-0 in MMA. Hasn't really been tested yet (though his second opponent Jason Guida, brother of UFC fighter Clay Guida, had him in a tight guillotine), but with his size and wrestling, has the potential to be a very good heavyweight fighterComment

They'd be superheavyweight I'd assume. Lashley just wouldn't cut and probably weighs 280? I don't know if weight matters at that pointLast edited by calgaryballer; 04-26-2009, 03:01 PM.Comment

Yeah, I guess. I thought Lashley was a natural HW. As in, under the 265 max normally. But I guess he could make Super Heavy. Still a huge weight difference. I thought some commissions would still refuse to sanction if the weight difference is too much.Comment
