Bob Sapp reminds me of one more way in which MMA is similar to pro wrestling... Professional jobbers aka cans.

I think Rob is talking out of his ass, bcus I never claimed that John Cena or any other wrestler for that matter could beat MMAers in an MMA match, or in a street fight for that matter. Rob is just on my nuts as usual.

Get off my dick Rob.. its too big to fit in your ass with your head lodged so far up there.

lol @ this post, the last resort of a man with no other options

you know what you have said in the past, don't deny it, so you made this post earlier

lol @ 'may have', you either have or you havent, clearly you have in the past and than you say 'how does that translate into me saying wrestlers would beat MMAers', well whats the point of saying that if you dont think they wouldn't do well? Who would this pro wrestlers be fighting, other pro wrestlers? lol

Dont change your past and play dumb now, nothing worse than a pro wrestling fan watching MMA for maybe 2 years and than trying to pass himself off as an expert

Again.. how does me saying some wrestlers could venture into MMA translate into me saying wrestlers would beat MMAers. More specifically.. when did I say John Cena could get into MMA? And even if I believed he could (which I dont), where do I say he could be successful? A lot of guys can venture into another sport and not succeed dummy. You're trying to spin it like im on wrestlings jock and that they're > MMAers, and thats simply not what I have ever said. And for you to claim that I have is you talking out of your ass, which you do a lot of anyways, so thats ok.

Theres nothing to change Rob, you're trying to change it for me. Why dont you come with some proof instead of coming with blatant bullshit lies?

And the only person who tries to come off as an expert in this thread is you, you think just bcus you've competed you're the fucking MMA guru, you're not. Ive continuously seen guys who probably have never even trained MMA own you many times on the subject over the years. You're just a smug MMA bastard and you know that you are, and undeservedly so. Knowing Frank Shamrock doesnt make you an expert.

So, again, please get off my knob. The whole gig is getting tired and you sound like a bigger jackass than you normally do, which is tricky for you.

And a last resort for what Rob? To make you look stupid? I dont need a last resort for that.. you're doing it pretty well on your own right now.

lol @ making me look stupid, you get clowned all the time and post on fighters and subjects you say you dont have knowledge on

I dont have the 'proof' because MM was deleted, but you know the deal, you remember defending wrestlers and there abilities and even thought some would do well in MMA

again, what is the point of saying pro wrestlers can venture into MMA if you dont think they will do well? It makes zero sense, anyone can venture into MMA, that is a dumb statement to make if you dont think they wont do well

I can say figure skaters can venture into MMA, or poker players, that is the same thing as what you are saying as you are trying to put it, but the difference is I would never say that because they would not do well and no point to even bring it up

obviuosly you think they would do well because there is no other reason to say it, right?

its cool if you think that, just dont try and change what you said

and yes, I am an expert on MMA, I dont see how I couldnt be, I have been around the sport for a long time, understand the sport, trained in the sport, etc...I know what I am talking about and I also admit when I am wrong also like with Rashad or other thoughts I have had

I also think there are some other very knowledgable posters here, but you are not 1 of them

No, you're not an expert. And if you consider yourself an expert you're a terrible one.

Tito Ortiz close to signing four-fight deal with Strikeforce, possible first bout with Babalu in October

June 28, 2009 by Dustin James

It’s been over a year since we last saw “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz (15-6-1) compete in an MMA fight. After losing to Lyoto Machida at UFC 84 in May of 2008, Ortiz decided to part ways with the UFC and hasn’t seen any action since.

According to Ortiz, he’s about to become the latest member of the Strikeforce family.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion was a guest of honor at last night’s UCFC “Clementi vs. Jensen” show in Pittsburgh at the Mellon Arena. In between fights, Ortiz entered the ring and announced to the crowd that he was extremely close to signing a four-fight deal with the Strikeforce promotion. Not only that, but he also mentioned that he could face Renato “Babalu” Sobral at a Strikeforce event in October.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was when Ortiz announced to the crowd that if he does sign the four-fight deal with Strikeforce that he would like his fourth fight to be a catchweight bout against the #1 heavyweight in the world, Fedor Emelianenko.

At one time, Ortiz was considered one of the best fighters in the world. Upon making his MMA debut at UFC 13 back in 1997, Ortiz compiled a 5-2 record with the company before defeating Wanderlei Silva for the UFC light heavyweight title.

Ortiz went on to hold the belt for three years before losing to Randy Couture at UFC 44. Since then Ortiz has had a very rocky relationship with the UFC and it’s owner, Dana White.

After losing to Machida last year, Ortiz decided it was time to move on with his career. Since then he has appeared as a “special guest” for multiple MMA promotions such as EliteXC, Strikeforce, and Affliction. He has also mentioned a number of “rumored” deals with other MMA promotions in the past, but nothing has yet to come to fruition. Perhaps this time we will finally see the return of one of MMA’s true “bad boys”.
I had a feeling they were looking for a Tito/Fedor fight, not many fights you can make for Fedor for the US fan to hype him up like Tito, but you never know with Tito, he always says he signed a fight and hasnt

Man I'm pretty pissed that I didn't make it out to that. I didn't even find out about this event until Friday tho and kinda had plans already. Hopefully it did well though, I see that they're planning more events for Pittsburgh this year so that's fuckin awesome. I'm definitely not missing the next one, I've been waiting forever for MMA legislation to be passed in PA.
