Apparently the deal is worth upwards of 20 million, but that includes N'Gog. So actual money is probably only around 13 million.

I think he's an up and coming talent but for that price? I don't know. It's not my money, and they can spend it how they see fit. He apparently fits into their Moneyball formula. But 13 million in cash isn't that bad considering the English tax.

Edit- In other news, I guess this means I won't have to buy him on FM 12.

See, I dont find it bad at all since they included NGog. I think, and i think you agree its nuts and stupid to pay 20 for him alone. But throwing in Ngog and only paying 13 or do is not bad business by any means.

Both teams screwed the other one over in the deal so I reckon it's a pretty even transfer.

Sunderland got 13 million for a midfielder who isn't that good and isn't really worth that kind of money (but he's English, which seems to double a persons transfer fee), but on the other hand Liverpool got a 20 year old with an English Cap already and only gave up 13 million pounds and the Scouser version of Ameobi in N'Gog. That's a bargain when you consider how much they had to overpay for Carroll and how much trash like Milner and Lescott commanded in transfer fees purely because they were young and English.
