I prefer the English clubs do well in the Champions League to keep the Premiership's coefficient up, as well as to strengthen the league financially.

I mean I hope they do well, but not too well of course.

Exactly. An English club crashing out of the CL early reflects poorly on the Prem in a number of ways. Its the kind of thing that cost Serie A their 4th spot... The fact that all English clubs have done reasonably well in Europe for the past number of years is a major reason the league can proclaim itself the best in the world.

I don't think De Gea sucks. But he looks really indecisive at times and IMO is finding his way in a new enviroment. He needs to take charge a bit mroe and become more aggressive going after 50/50 crosses but I think that will come with time.

I'd kill to have Vorm though. That guy fucking rocks.

Vorm has been really impressive so far. Looks like a fantastic buy for Swansea. Interesting thing is that he was a bargain buy since he wasn't that highly rated in Holland. Good keeper for Utrecht but not considered outstanding from anything I've read. He has 5 Dutch NT caps and was with them at the WC last year but behind Stekelenburg. Don't think Vorm was looked at by Ajax this summer when they sold Steks, either.

Hoping Vorm can keep up the form (excpet againt Arsenal).

I wouldn't necessarily count on that... I'm really not sure how well Stekelenburg will do in Italy with Roma. I don't expect him to fail, but if he falters a bit, it could open the door. And Vorm is actually only a year younger than Stekelenburg.

Steks is big, with good positioning and good organization - I could see him taking time to get comfortable with organizing the Roma defense, especially with the language and culture barriers. I find it facinating how closely Stekelenburg's career thus far has mirroed Edwin Van der Saar's - minus the success that VDS had at Ajax, of course. VDS went to Juventus from Ajax and struggled badly. They aren't the same player, so you can't really expect Steks to struggle based on that... but it would be eerie if he repeated that.
