I don't know what period of time these stats are over, but I don't think you can judge a goalie solely on goals conceded. Just look at what's in front of them, Schwarzer has been on two mid-table to relegation teams, his best defender being Hangeland and always injured Jonathan Woodgate. Beisdes that, Stephen Kelly, Konchesky, and the great John Paintsil. Whereas Almunia has had Gallas, Vermaelen, Toure, Sagna, etc. And the style of play matters, Almunia has a team in front of him who keeps possession of the ball, limiting the chances of their opponents, Boro/Fulham don't. Put Schwarzer on a good team and his stats will certainly improve, just as any goalies would. I'm basing my judgment on what I've seen of both of them, Almunia is mistake ridden and undersized, Schwarzer commands his line, and makes very few mistakes.

Also, great goal by Bale.
