Josh Barnett is the best heavyweight in the world right now...

...and will continue to be so...

The man hasn't lost in nearly 5 years. His only losses in the past DECADE come to a PRIME Mirko Cro Cop and Big Nog.

The man was the #2 HW in the world while Fedor reigned supreme...so, someone tell me why he shouldn't be considered the #1 HW in the world right MEOWWWWW!

/unless Emelianegro beats him in the finals of HWGP.

No he wasn't. He could never beat Cro Cop and he traded wins with Big Nog.

That was 5 years ago lol.

Cro Cop has been a bum for about 4 now. Big Nog hasn't been Big Nog in 3.

            I love Barnett.

But i'm telling you why he isnt considered #1...winning streak...Yoshida, Monson, Rizzo, Yvel, Mighty Mo, some guy named Geronimo dos Santos, Rogers, Kharitonov.

Im mean, that list isn't terrible, but nobody was top ten at the time he beat them (Rogers was fringe, maybe Sergei was fringe). Hard to rank him over Cain, among others, with that resume.

Actually, looking back at Cain's run, it isn't that much better.

                Who would be considered #1?

                Compare resumes.

Most of the top heavies people consider today have pretty skimpy resumes over the past five years, nevermind having the rest of the decade to back them up.

You said Barnett was the #2 heavy during Fedor's prime.

                  Not quite.

If you take the span of the decade...Big Nog, IMO, is the only guy who could lay claim to that spot, and even then, Barnett comes in at #3 at worst.

Like I said earlier, the fact Barnett lost to Cro Cop 3x and split fights with Big Nog...he has no claim to being the #2 guy. Big Nog is the undisputed #2 heavyweight. Then you can argue Barnett/Cro Cop for #3.

Fair enough. However, you are splitting hairs, considering Barnett hasn't fallen off like Crop Cop and Big Nog at the end of decade.

I don't see how that matters. Fedor's prime ended IMO some years ago (well, I guess I consider his prime to be his time in Pride).

Non of the HWs have a great run, look at JDS's and Cain's, they are not great, based more on youth and potential

The WARMASTER will get his chance soon to drink the blood and wear the skin of the zuffa HWs

JDS has had a great run in the modern era.
