    The bold is the point.

And you act as if this all took place over a long length of time...one second Mayweather is offering his gloves for a glove tap, and a split second later he's sneaking Ortiz while Ortiz is still backing off, before the guy even had a chance to reassume a fighting position.

I mean, it was borderline cowardly.

It was a fight. It wasn't on pause. Ortiz was not defending himself. That's why I can't get mad at Floyd.

So how can you say a guy getting suckered and popped during a glove tap in MMA would be dirty?

It's a fight, and it isn't on pause, right?

          c'mon, man.

couple things, by going so hard against Mayweather you're defending the headbutt which was worse than the left hook after the ref restarted the fight, one was illegal, one was not

it's not MMA, so drop that comprasion, in boxing there isnt all this hugging, slapping hands stuff, in boxing you touch at the start and MAYBE the last round, Ortiz hugs him, glove tapped, than went in for another hug or 2, ref started it and he got popped

After the first hug and the glove tap it should have been on, Ortiz threw a jumping headbutt, headbutts are worse than low blows in boxing, they cause cuts and stop fights, it was a dirty dirty move than he went overboard on the hugs and kisses which is abnormal behavior for boxing

I think Mayweather should have stopped after the left hook, but oh well, Ortiz went against the main rule and it is said before every fight, 'protect yourself at ALL times', especially after a flagrant headbutt

anyway, this works out better for Ortiz this way, it was going to be another maywather snooze win and ortiz would be forgotten, now he is talked about more than ever, if you know ortiz's past, he is somewhat of a headcase, he wasnt ready for this fight in this setting

like I said, 2 cheap shots, mayweather just did it better

Because in MMA, when that happens it's almost always one guy faking the tap and then shooting in with a punch.

Here, Ortiz and Mayweather did their tap, Ortiz hugged him, and then he got punched.

and Mayweather didnt even try and combo him right away, he pops him with the left hook to almost say 'come on mfer, lets fight!' and ortiz still doesnt fight, looks at the ref of all things and than Mayweather drops the right on him

                lol's all around

Looking forward, when Packquiao wins in November, here's what I would wish he says in his promo..

"Floyd Mayweather's sucker punches can't save him from me whipping his ass if he has the cajones to step in the ring with me. And I'll do it fair and square. Floyd "sucker" Mayweather is more like it..."

He'd never go that route, but it'd make for great tv.

I dont know if any of you guys have been in fights, hard sparring, whatever with boxing, kickboxing or MMA, but after you get cheap shotted you want to fight, Ortiz kept up the hugging, glove tapping and hugging thing way to long, Mayweather wanted to fight

at some point, you say fuck it, if the ref says go, you go, I actually don't blame him, all that fake hugging and sorry, sorry probably pissed him off even more than he already was from the headbutt

plus mayweather already gave him a couple heads nods like 'okay okay, lets go' after the first hugs and glove taps

also, if you want to use the MMA thing with Cain vs JDS, imagine Cain comes out, puts his glove out, JDS touches it, than Cain opens both his arms for a big hug, JDS than gives him a hug back, now Cain steps in again for a glove tap and a hug

Someone going to get hit eventually when you carry on, we dont need a Pat Barry/Cro Cop remake

I watch this guys videos on Boxing all the time, he has a neutral stance on almost all fighters. Check this dudes aftermath video and he actually explains the situation to the "T". I'm not a PBF fan in the least, but PBF tapped gloves. What was he suppose to do, motion ortiz to raise his gloves?, "Hey bud, can you raise your gloves... I am about to molly whop you."

Ortiz should have never tried to hug him....that was his mistake. He will have to live with that. No hugging during a fucking boxing match...c'mon son!

All 3 partys involved fucked up on this one with Mayweather being the least to blame and the ref being the most. Im glad I didnt pay for this shit.
