NHL Cap system is beyond broken

So Tyler Myers signed a 7 year deal today worth $38.5M. Not a bad deal right? Only a $5.5M cap hit per year and not as fucked as the Kovy contract right?

    Payouts per year
    July 1st, 2012: $10MILLION SIGNING BONUS
    2012-13: $2M
    2013-14: $6M
    2014-15: $5M
    2015-16: $5M
    2016-17: $4M
    2017-18: $3.5M
    2018-19: $3M

They basically front loaded the contract with a $10M bonus he gets day one, and even if a lockout happens he keeps it.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Bob McKenzie posted on twitter, that he wouldn't be surprised in the new next CBA agreement, the NHL tries to make every year of a contract the same, or in other words, the cap hit is whatever the plays contract is that year. So if you are paying a guy $2M one season and $10M the next, those are two different cap hits.

This to me is the only way to get rid of this shit. Sure if a team like the Panthers wants to fork out $15M in the first season to a guy since they have all the cap room and then offer him low amounts the next 5 years for say a $25M contract over 5yrs, they could, but at least it isn't shit like the Myers deal. Fuck it, why even pay him $5M. Why not just signing bonus it all on day one. Fucking NHL.

        Bullshit:

Tyler Myers' & Christian Ehrhoff's combined 2011-12 salary will be $22 million. Combined cap hit? $9.5 million.

Then the NHL GMs will backload the hell out of a deal ala MLB, and it will backfire then because you will have a player get older and be paid a super high amount for above average play at best.
