It's hard to say really, if you have a zuffa press pass you have to shill, that's how they do business

I don't read many guys, I usually notice it from threads on certain websites, usually the same shills over and over, I guess if I had to name a couple off the top of my head, gross and hunt

The irony here is due to his relationships with Coker, Frank Shamrock, Cung Le, etc Meltzer was probably closer to being a Strikeforce "shill" than anything else. I don't think anyone, aside from maybe guys from tiny websites that nobody sees, gave more pub to SF than Meltzer, and he was doing it for Yahoo front & center.

rob is just being goofy when he talks about this stuff. A reporter saying something positive about UFC or negative about something non UFC does not mean they are "shilling". What you have to understand when it comes to Meltzer, is you have a lot of old school MMA fans (especially at the UG) who still get all twisted and offended when it comes to prowres, and it's gotten worse since Brock. So these guys will take one sentence or one paragraph from an article somebody wrote and scream about them being a shill. It's stupid.

I remember Meltzer saying on his radio show one time, that while most of the writers accept him now, it was hard in the beginning because of the prowres stigma, and there are still some guys who give him looks and whisper behind his back, but that's usually newer guys since he's one of the few guys who has been there since day one.
