Any Leafs fan want to be REALLY angry?
Lets take a look at this
Draft Order
1) NY Islanders 61pts 26W 1GR
2) Tampa Bay 66pts 24W
3) Colorado 69pts 32W 1GR
4) Atlanta 76pts 35W
5) Los Angeles 79pts 34W
6) Phoenix 79pts 36W
7) Toronto 81pts 34W
Had the Maple Leafs simply lost in regulation in the meaning less game versus the Senators. The Leafs would have climbed to 5th in the draft order since they'd have just 33W's, the fewest of the 79 point teams. Being in 5th would give them a shot at the #1 overall pick.
Oops.
If it can be "business" in sports when veteran star players are moved out for the youth, why can't it be "business" to give yourself a shot at a player like Tavares?Comment

You basically just summed up the last 3-4 seasons for Toronto. Instead of tanking and getting better players in the draft, they try and play. What should have happened is, put Pogge in net and play the "we want to give him more experience" card. He will never be a #1 goalie for the Leafs, so just use him as a cheap way to get a better pick. Then just start fucking around with the lines in an "attempt to find chemistry". Most likely they would not get #1 pick, but at least a top 5 is better. All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
"rammer" and "cummings"
The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.Comment

The Canucks / Blues game was a good one; very spirited, scrappy, hard hitting, and good goaltending. There were 13 power plays in the game and the Blues had two 5 on 3 advantages but only capitalised once. The Canucks looked very relaxed and played well overall. They should win the series, but I'm not writing off the Blues yet.
If the Rangers keep the scoring up, they can win that series in less than 7 I'd bet.
I assume Luongo played well for the Nucks?
Can't wait for tonight's game :DComment

I can't wait either, hopefully the Wings start out strong against Columbus, the only thing that can stop them is Rick Nash, he's scored so much against us this year it's unbelievable.
I'd say if the Wings win tonight, they'll finish it out in either 4 of 5 games.
RIP West

Originally posted by LaheyLuongo played very well. His game has really been coming on since mid-late March. Before that the Canucks were winning with average goaltending.
The Sharks / Ducks series looks to be a real battle. The Sharks should win, but the Ducks are only one season removed from the Cup, so they have the horses that can get it done. I hope both teams beat the snot out of each other in a long and brutal 7 game series.
I can't see the series going 7 games, the Ducks have enough offence to steal 2 games at most, but the goaltending just isn't there IMO.Comment

A for effort. Gonna be a good series.
I love the dirty play so far. I don't like the heavy hand from the league about it tho, cause they might influence these series too much with their bullshit.
Carcillo gets suspended for a poke to Talbot's head, but what to do with Cammalleri from Calgary? Off the draw he elbows Havlat right in the face. There's no way they can suspended Carcillo and not Cammalleri. Is everyone going to get suspended? What about Komisarek and the possible eye gouge after the game tonight?
Retarded. This is just as bad as the NFL.Comment
