Leaffan has taken the day off work for this I believe, and I'm not in school that day, so I'll have TSN on the TV along with the TSN trade centre tracker on my PC.

This needs to become a Canadian holiday!
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

        "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

            That'd be really interesting.

As a Wings fan, i don't think we should get rid of Hudler, he's came on hot as of late, but when he's cold, he's real cold.
We do need help at Goalie, and everyone's going crazy over the fact that Ozz is playing like sh*t this season.

If you've watched the Wings since i began watching them and understanding it, right around 97-98 when i was 6 years old, when Ozz joined the team and won his first cup and ever since then, he's always played like this throughout the season, and then playoffs come, he's a brick wall and doesn't let anything in.

I just get irritated over the fact that everyone's going crazy and we need to draft a goalie or trade for one, yeah it'd be nice, but we just drafted one 1st round last year, and he'll be up in our lineup in a year or two..In the meantime, yeah but i wouldn't want to see the Wings trade a bunch of picks or very good players for one we're just gonna trade away in a couple years.

            If the Wings were to trade anyone away, i'd have to say it'd be;
            Samuelson

They really need to let Draper and Maltby go, they've been on the team forever, i know, i've watched them since day 1, but we need room for more guys who can get more point production rather than just a line out there for the other lines to get a breather..

Sorry for the talk/rant..but that's what i feel lol.

The Maple Leaf yard sale doesn't seem like it is going to be happening, or rather, it won't happen just for the sake of happening. I'd almost fully expect Burke to make next to no trades, mostly because of either to high an asking price or because someone can fit into his system later on.

Kaberle is apparently one of those players the leafs could use when the time comes, because he is a puck moving defencemen. Wouldn't surprise me if he stays, considering Montreal is no longer looking.

Andropoff's asking price seems a little high, and I doubt he'll get a top pick for him. Though I wouldn't put it past a team who maybe has a 2nd first round pick hanging around, or maybe won't draft till the last remaining 8 spots.

not a major deal, but notable none the less!

Whitney going to Anaheim almost guarentees Pronger is on his way out.

I really don't like that move for the penguins, because they showed they are nothing without their top two dmen back on the powerplay. Though they do get a 80 point scorer for the past two season in Chris Kunitz, and maybe he can have some luck with Crosby.

Though I still think they could have got more for Whitney.

The Flyers better grab Pronger, he is the physical d-man they lack since Jason Smith left and Hatcher broke down. He can clear the crease in front of Biron/Nitty and move the puck out of the zone and plain and simple scares the crap out of opposing forwards.

They keep talkin about Boumeester, but I hope they don't get him w/o agreeing to a longterm deal first. We don't want a Hossa situation in the offseason. He also isn't that physical in front of the net, albeit he is a good d-man. He definitely dosn't have the nasty streak like Smith/Hatcher/Pronger.

Like I said on msn when we had our discussion, I think the move is excellent.

Kunitz is a tough guy, and other than Eric Godard there aren't many on the Pens just now. It will be excellent to have him on the ice with Crosby because as everyone could see against the Caps, Crosby is having to bear the brunt of the Pens lacking a physical edge. Kunitz also has Stanley Cup experience obviously and has experience of being an alternate captain for the Ducks, so the Pens benefit from that, another area they are really lacking in is leadership I think.

They have no leadership because Crosby basically is not one right now. They need a sound vet in their to lead the boys. They lost that with Roberts.

Probably will work out fairly well. Kunitz could be that answer, depending where they put him, to the problem of, who plays beside Crosby. And if they get Colby back, you have a nice top line right there, follwed by Sykora/Malkin/Fedetanko. Plus it gives them a Ryan Malone player, someone on the powerplay who will stand in front of the net. Put him in front, Malkin and Crosby on the wings, Gonchar on the point, and start to develop another dman into a PP guy.
