I don't think anyone can stand Avery. Most of the fans of his teams can be classified as neutral towards him when on their team. I will say, I've never actually talked to a person that likes Avery.

There's plenty of New York fans who love him. Reviving two very downhill seasons whilst creating a cult persona buys you a lot of time at MSG. Avery is remembered fondly for driving Brodeur and many others completely insane.

He was never given a fair chance by Torts but I don't really care that much. When you're in 1st place the healthy scratches don't bother you; unless that prick Christensen gets a game (that's infuriating).
