    Newcastle United Thread

I know the NUFC fans here get most of their info/opinions out at other forums, but I figured with the start we've had there's a lot of talking points.

    And also this,

He scored something like 15 last season, and has started off well this year. We'd lose him for the ACoN, which is one of the main reasons I think we need a striker, but when him, Ba and Tiote are back.

Yah, I'd still like to get another striker. Freiburg have told Papiss that if they are in bad trouble, they'll sell him. I'd love to get him. He gets his goals no matter what, my only reason to watch them play

He would be a dream, he's more proven than Maiga in a better league. Unlikely they would both sign, unless Freiburg are in terrible shape.

Shola out until December. I remember a day when that was a good thing. Now it's Bestie all alone

Can we get the title changed to Sports Direct United?

The F365 mailboxes today had both perspectives. On one hand, yes, it is terrible that a 125 year old venue is being fucked with like this. On the other, unfortunately, this is probably the way football is headed and if Newcastle wants to have a shot at participating, revenue needs to be found everywhere

Ashley's problem is that I feel (and everyone feels) he is a shady motherfucker and that none of this money will be 'for a player' it will be for his fat ass

The problem lies in this particular "deal," and Llambias' quotes. Until a company does buy into it, if one ever does, the club is getting absolutely no money from the name change. Ashley's proven in the past that one of his main goals is to increase visibility of SD, just look at the stadium compared to the beginning last season.

I agree football is on this route, and there's nothing we can do about it. But if a deal is reached with another company, Llambias says we'll get 8-10mil, which he says will get us one player. That's not even close to being fucking worth it, not a chance. And of course he says, "That fans want us to sign a striker." Like this is all because of us, because you sold our young striker for 35mil and we demanded investment, the SJP needs to be renamed? What kind of logic is that?

              I miss Chris Mort.

Looks like CB and I got our wish, Pappis Cisse is apparently about to seal a move to Newcastle. Holy shit, this is dreamland stuff.

Papa Cisse would be a nice signing for Newcastle. Figured he would end up moving to one of the big clubs in Germany, especially when the likes of HSV could use scoring. Curious how he will combine with Ba.

NUFC are becoming a mini French team. I dont know anything about him, other than some Football Manager 12 stats. 10 mil really aint much though, and from everything I been reading it seems like a good signing.

Apparently going to post a profit this year, and that isn't even factoring in player sales.

Just the thought of our balance sheet once we include the Carroll money and sell Tiote and Krul when we finish 7th...

Also have my eyes on these shirts when I hit the club shop

Want a new official shirt, but the Virgin Money sponsor logo is just an iron on and will probably fall off. I'll wait until next year when it's for realz

Phillipe Auclair in Monday's Guardian pod said that ben Arfa is the most talented of the '87 Generation (Nasri, Benzema and him). Hopefully he can keep playing at this level and come true

That was easily the most time spent on Newcastle on that pod for a few years. Was a nice change.
