Rogan is the play by play guy ...

Rogan is more of a color commentator/analyst, but I guess in MMA the line between the two is kinda blurred.

It's official. My man @Jon_Anik has departed ESPN for the UFC. Nothing but the best, Chost. Expect him to handle lots of live fight calls.

            Well, he knows the sport...

            UDPATE---From Meltzer...

UFC announced today at a press conference today in Las Vegas he signing of Jon Anik, the former host of MMA Live on ESPN, as a new announcer.

Anik will be the voice of UFC on FX, which means he will do both FX specials and The Ultimate Fighter. What that apparently means is they will be doing live commentary of the fights starting with the next season of the show, where the fights themselves will be airing live on Friday nights. This would be the first time the TUF fights in the house will be broadcast with play-by-play commentary if this is the case.
Sounds about right. Goldberg has a lot on his plate as it is.

Meltzer mentions in the WON that with Anik gone from ESPN, it's expected that Coachman and Grisham may be the new hosts of MMA Live (whether it sticks on TV or returns to .com).

              That would be hilarious.

Read somewhere that Anik's broadcast partner would be a UFC fighter. Bonnar or Florian?

Grisham got hired by ESPN? Thats tremendous. Good for him. Terribly underutilized in the WWE, much like Coach was.

I was told it was somebody under Zuffa contract, and not an outside hire, which would obviously point at a fighter.

The caveat is Zuffa contract, so I suppose you could speculate on a Strikeforce analyst moving over, but with Showtime appearing as though they are extending the Strikeforce contract to 2014, I doubt it,

Yeah, on his first fucking day he got in trouble for saying the Oklahoma fans were walking a "trail of tears" after the loss a few weeks ago. The Cherokee tribe went apeshit over that and complained. He had to apologize on air, and if he hadn't been part Cherokee himself, may have been fired.
