TNA does not actually have a huge roster of regulars. They have some (and not even all of them wrestle in every show)...but 2/3 of their listed roster was full of talent that was part time...and they were paying them a flat fee, whether they worked much or not. Tara hasn't been working a ton in months. The knockouts and the lower card talent (think X-Division) basically rotated around the year where you'd have 3-4 on the road at any given time, but they were paying for 7-8-9 of them. Even now, you basically have Gail Kim, Taryn Terrell, Velvet Sky, and Mickie James working...you got nothing to do for ODB, so, you make her a ref. You still have Tessmacher signed, but you don't use her. And think, you had Madison Rayne you were still paying, Tara and Taeler Hendrix recently, too. That's four talents you weren't really using, but paying anyway. And heck, you're probably still paying Christie Hemmie a good amount to announce. They still keep SoCal Val around to do whatever it is she does. You're probably paying Brooke Hogan way too much.

They pay for chicks that don't do a whole lot. They are probably paid beans, but I guess those beans add up especially to a company that doesn't make a whole lot of money.
In Joey Ryan's interview, he confirmed that, but also said he got a bonus each time he wrestled. By doing both, they are shooting themselves in the food. Either pay them by appearance, or just a flat right, but you can't do both.

Yeah, they kind of keep talent on retainer...but then really restrict where the talent could work.

Could you work for a local mom'n'pop promotion for a few bucks...sure. Could you work for an Indy that pays decent money? No. Because you couldn't work for a company that sold DVDs or had iPPV or didn't have a working relationship with TNA. So, if they weren't using you, you were kind of beat for that bonus money.

Sounds like, unless you were former WWE or WCW talent, or put in a whole lot of work like Aries, Roode, Styles and Daniels, you are better off going the entire independent route.

            Pretty much.

We've talked about it in this thread before.

A lot of the top Indy talent thinks of TNA as a dead end.

Joe, Styles, Daniels, Kaz, Sabin, Shelley all started in TNA when it was "up-and-coming"...Joey Ryan and Austin Aries...it was basically their only option to ever make it on TV. Most of the Indy talent doesn't want to go there, and from the looks of it, TNA doesn't exactly want them either or aren't interested.

Which makes zero sense, Impact should be looking at whats hot on the indy scene and try to bring that on tv. It would set themselves apart from WWE and make them a true alternative.

Ivelisse Velez is on Tattoo Nightmares right now asking them to cover up the flames she has coming out of her twat.

Is it true that TNA's Doc is a free agent b/c they let his contract expire?

His tweet sums it up as being a parting of the ways. I imagine they consider it money saved, and I wouldn't be surprised if one or two more guys from Aces and 8's gets let go.

Though I thought these guys didn't have contracts to begin with

Naturally, they let the one talented minion of the group walk while Wes Brisco and the former WWECW guy and that dreadful nothing-but-the-drizzling-shits Anderson are maintained.

                          Fantasy booking here.

Punk needs an ally. Why not have a little SES reunion and have Gallows return to team with Punk against Heyman. I am not sure if they want to waste Lesnar's appearances with that, but RVD or someone else can take a spot as a PHG to team with Curtis Axel and have a nice feud running for a few months. Certainly, WWE has done worse for themselves, but they could pull that have.

There are some rumorz that they might bring up another developmental talent and stick them with Heyman.

Replace CM Punk with Dollar Store Punk?

I would wait until Axel is more over. You don't want to give off a vibe of Heyman leading a bunch of geeks who aren't established.
