Dutt/Jigsaw match was damn near flawless for a 5m flippy spotfest and the crowd got into it big.
TNA might be on to something with these "Gut Check" segments and these prelims for the X-Division tourneys...these "giving a guy a chance" things are a great little gimmick...first off, getting these Indy geeks to come in has to be the most cost efficient thing the company does...secondly, they come in and bust their balls. The two black dudes came in and had a helluva little match and it probably cost TNA $50 between the two of them. Awesome filler for shows. And this Joey Ryan guy needs in NOW.
The other thing Impact is doing right, is they don't give you the entire roster every week. That bugs the hell out of me about RAW. Not everybody has to be on TV every week, especially in throw away segments that serve no purpose. No Jeff Hardy this week, no RVD, no Anderson, no Jersey Shore gimmick guy, etc. They were all on the show last week, though. James Storm wasn't even on this week. There is nothing wrong with that, I think it's a good thing.Comment

Agree completely. It gives the shows some juice, and you know these guys are going to work hard.

It was actually a pretty good little TV match, too.Comment

Oh...the next Gut Check competitor should be Chris Masters.Comment

Watching night one of EVOLVE from Ybor City Florida. After drawing about 75 people...total...to two shows in North Carolina, not a good sign to see about 30 people in one of the worst looking buildings you'll ever see for this show.
Doesn't look like the local group, FUW, sold too many tickets. And so far, the FUW portion of teh show is pretty meh.Comment

I always liked Masters. People raved about his stuff on Superstars right before he got shit canned, which I thought was heavier praise than necessary, but he did improve. He was pretty lazy with Ra Ka King from what I saw, but i'm not sure you needed to bust your ass for a fresh audience like that who was going to pop for just about anything.
I like how he got busted for steroids, so stopped using, shrunk, and then got made fun of in promos for losing his thickness. You have to love the WWE machine.Comment

I think while he'd prefer the paycheck that Vince was giving, not ending up like Gene Zit-sky was the better outcome.Comment

Just finished Best in the World 2012...
Pretty bad tag match with the Briscoes and Mosh and Thrasher.
Homicide v. Eddie Edwards was alright.
Holy shit...Adam Cole v. Kyle O'Reilly was fucking awesome. They did something that is the most difficult thing to do...make you give a shit about two guys that you wouldn't otherwise give a shit about. That match definitely made Adam Cole.
Finlay has been having the same match for a while against these Indy guys...he plays the old wiley veteran double hardass in the match against the young guy and plays the technically experienced veteran...similar matches everytime...they aren't particularly bad, heck, technically, they are good...just not particularly captivating at all.
Why are they seemingly de-pushing Mike Bennett? He's not my cup of tea, but you don't job him out to Mike Mondo.
+rep to Jay Lethal's hair and Ciampa's beard. Lulz.
Figure Four - Crossface would have been an A+ ending to a three-way match...too bad they wasted it for a non-finish.
Otherwise, the three-way was very good. Ciampa is growing on me...the end was sloppy tough.
Tag Title match was alright...right team went over, albeit, flukey.
Totally unnecessary promo to start by Kyle O'Reilly. That can be ROHTV shit.
Corino killed commentary.
Steen v. Richards was a trainwreck from start to finish. It was a classic ECW style match. I enjoyed it. Everyone went down...ridiculous pandemonium.Comment

was having a convo with a friend about this, wondering what the wrestling guys in here would think..
would a Kurt Angle/ROH unison work?

W2B, what is ROH looking like financially...
I keep reading that they think ROH will go under very soon.Comment

They cancelled both Carolina shows today, but they probably overreached on that one.
Meltzer talked about this topic last week, he pointed out that all it takes is one executive with Sinclair to pull the plug (that's what ultimately killed WCW), if the numbers are in that ballpark.
