Now The Rock's teasing of "closing" WM 27...

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson did an interview with MTV News to promote WrestleMania 27 and said he was going to lay his fist across someone's lips and boot up someone's ass on Sunday.

The Rock teased that he would be a part of the final moments of WrestleMania and said the following: "Like with any show, like with any movie, you want to make sure the final five, 10 minutes of the show are worth every penny."
Just more wishful thinking on my part lol.

An Austin-style chair beatdown would be interesting if Rock was given permission to beat the piss out of Cena but we've already had that with Bret/Vince recently.

Nobody popped and it was unnecessary to everybody but Hart.

There's nothing Rock can do besides lay a beating on Cena but he'd "lose" in the case of Cena being right about him being a bully.

Still, since when has Rock given a shit what others have thought when he's kicking ass?

Sting tells FT he was approached and offered a match with Undertaker, and a place in the Hall of Fame but he turned it down.

“I wouldn’t say it was utter nonsense, that’s not true!” laughs TNA’s champ. “It’s a dream match that fans would want to see. It was close. I’m glad things turned out the way they did.

“There are so many variables. Let’s just say that I turned it down for the same reasons I always have. Some- thing in me never trusted what would happen up there, based entirely on the track record with other WCW guys and everything that went on after Vince bought WCW.

“I wont be watching but I’ll be asking what happened between Under- taker and Triple H.”

WrestleMania: Snooki and Alberto Del Rio, Wrestling's Odd Couple

            By Bryan Robinson

Published April 01, 2011 | Fox News Latino

One is the queen of MTV's Jersey Shore; the other is WWE's resident Mexican aristocrat. One is famous for being perhaps the worst of the tanned, bouffant-wearing, gum-chomping Italian stereotype. The other invites fans' wrath with a wink and a smile as he drives the world's most expensive cars to the ring and insists on being introduced by his own personal ring announcer - in Spanish.

Only one entity - and one extravaganza - could bring these two very different stars together: World Wrestling Entertainment's 27th annual WrestleMania on Sunday. Snooki will participate in a six-person, inter-gender grudge match while Alberto Del Rio will vie for the World Heavyweight Championship in his WrestleMania debut. Both promise to thrill 70,000-plus screaming fans in Atlanta's Georgia Dome.

"It's going to be the peak of my career," said Del Rio, a native of Mexico. "My family, my entire country, is going to be proud of me because I'm going to go out there and become the new World Heavyweight Champion. I'm going to die out there trying to become the World Heavyweight Champion."

So what's behind the infatuation with WrestleMania? Why do fans come from around the world and dole out hard-earned money to watch this spectacle on pay-per-view? What is it about WrestleMania that makes fathers and sons and daughters jump out of their seats and grown, muscle-bound men in tights speak in hushed reverence?

Simply put, it is pro wrestling's greatest annual event. All wrestlers who grew up as fans dream of performing in it and look forward to watching it. Even in the choreographed world of professional wrestling, there is nothing staged about the emotion and excitement from anyone who performs at WrestleMania.

"As a kid, all I wanted to do was be a wrestler," said Del Rio. "Now that I'm here in WWE - WrestleMania is our NBA, our Super Bowl, our World Series of professional wrestling. As a wrestler, as a performer, I always dreamed of being in something like that."

For the fan, WrestleMania's appeal is as nuanced as wrestling's longtime popularity. Wrestling's magnetism goes hand-in-hand with the dawn of the television age in the 1950s, but WrestleMania took it to another level. It is a marriage of headlocks and Hollywood that began in 1985, when WWE Chairman Vince McMahon teamed up the charisma of Hulk Hogan and the diabolical lunacy of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper with the star power of Mr. T and Cyndi Lauper.

Jeremy Buck vs. Max Buck have been wrestling each other recently and it's been some of the best single matches that TNA have put on for a good minute. I just wish the matches were longer.

Funny because whenever they did Hardy vs. Hardy (whether in late 90s or more recent), it was horrible. Perhaps it was so bad because they were so over that fans didn't want to see it...but the matches just weren't good.

                Re: TNA, I just wish...

Could do a top 100 right there

Its like asking "how do you feel about *random shitty actor* in some big budget popcorn movie"?

WWE is big budget, low quality wrestling. I don't thinkn anyone who cares enough even gives a shit about the garbage they throw out there. Vince McMahon is a wresling promoter who hates wrestling but fails at everything else he tries, so he keeps doing wrestling. He'd eliminate the matches if he could figure out a way to do it successfully.

I was catching up on Superstars episodes last night. This is an actual quote from one of the geek announcers they have working with Striker:

"When you talk great rivalries, you have Celtics/Lakers, Yankees/Red Sox, and now we have MASTERS VERSUS REKS"

Tremedous. Of course, this show is being cancelled. But id be lying if I said I didn't enjoy MASTERS vs REKS every week. I love me some Masterpiece, always have.

Can't wait until he's "live VIA satellite" to tell us about his new movie, 'Fast Five,' and to thank us for all the support.

Cue The Rock disappearing for a few more years if not forever with no real resolution to his feud with Cena other than a few Tweets here or there.

They will do a match at some point. Whether it's Summerslam, Survivor Series or simply whenever Rock has an open schedule.

Until Rock pins/submits/earns a DQ victory over Cena, he's a pussy.

He's afraid to fight Cena one-on-one and lose.

And even if it gets me to agree with The Miz (I like The Miz but Michael Cole ruined him), I will throw my lot into the "Rock's making movies now, he can't afford to get hurt" camp.
