I read about it, then quickly hit 'x' on the window and went to bed depressed.

Yes, Gabe Sapolsky used the closing of the building to try to put over Sami f'n Callihan.

Gabe blew it, he could have booked a classy send off, in fact it was his responsibility to book a classy send off. When I saw EVOLVE was going to be the last show, I was like 'thank god its not CZW, how fitting, Gabe gets the spot'. And he pulls that shit. What a joke, Joey Styles should have walked out of the building and refused to do it.

      What happened at EVOLVE?

Final wrestling show, presumably ever, at The ECW/New Alhambra/Viking Hall/ Arena

Here's a recap of what happened at the end of show:

Lenny Leonard introduces ECW Ring Announcer Bob Artese, who comes out, says some words to the people and then introduces Joey Styles. Styles comes out, gives his "OH MY GOD" catchphrase, says some words to the people such as this moment meant more to him than being at Madison Square Garden or Wrestlemania and then introduced Pitbull #1 Gary Wolfe. Wolfe came out in jeans and no shirt and then Styles introduced JT Smith. Then Styles introduced Todd Gordon. Gordon put over the Arena and was about to pay tribute to the Sandman, who wasn't there, when DJ Hyde and a bunch of other guys from CZW came out.

Hyde cut a promo about how the Arena is the home of CZW, no other promotion ran more shows in the Arena than CZW and that if anyone was gonna give a sendoff to the Arena, it was gonna be Combat Zone Wrestling. Then one of the CZW lackeys hit the ring, Gordon clotheslined him, Styles went "OH MY GOD!" and then the CZW lackeys surrounded the ECW guys when Balls Mahoney hit the ring. Mahoney took a couple of the CZW lackeys out with chairshots, with one of them taking a unprotected chair shot to the head. Eventually though, the lackeys got the better of Mahoney and started to beat down the rest of the ECW crew. New Jack then hit the ring complete with Natural Borns Killas blaring and a trash can of weapons. The CZW crew was getting an ass whooping, when Justin Credible hit the ring and attacked New Jack. As this was going on, Sabu came out, the ECW crew and CZW crew for whatever reason disappeared, Sabu and Credible had a staredown with a referee in the ring, who then rung the bell, signifying for a match to begin.

Sabu and Justin Credible proceded to have a Justin Credible-Sabu ECW Arena Match in 2012, ending with Sabu winning in 9:48 with a top rope Arabian Facebuster through a table. Then Styles gets in the ring to end the show, but before he could, Sabu wanted the mic because he wanted to talk. Before Sabu could speak, Sami Callahan jumped him, cut a long rambling promo, all the while beating down a bleeding Sabu, while the crowd was chanting for either Tommy Dreamer or Raven to hit the ring. But they didnt, as Callahan kept rambling on and on, finishing with telling all the people who saw wrestle in the Arena, and all the people who supported him throughout his career to suck his dick. Then as the beginning of Metallica's Fade to Black started to play, he asked for the lights to be turned off, they were and when they came back on, he was gone and the show ended.

        There you go.

Primo and his cousin won the tag straps at a house show.

Evan Bourne is in the dog house so don't be surprised if they split him apart from Kingston and bury him.

Another suspension coming? Why wouldn't they do the switch on TV?

Not another one. Meltzer said some in WWE blame him for word getting out about what Ron Killings was suspended for (spice, the same thing Bourne did). He complained to Dr. Black I think about being suspended for it while Killings wasn't (he was eventually).

Plus, HHH is not a fan of his...although Stephanie sees some value in him.

Because the tag belts aren't even worth the pennies they're made out of anymore....

That ending to the Bingo Hall sounds awful.

Gabe is retweeting negative comments about the angle, including one that basically said he blew the most important angle of his career. Even he knows it sucked.

Only one guy had a shot at booking the final segment of the final show, and considering it was him, someone who was there since the ECW days has been involved with at least four companies that ran the building, he would have been at the top of the list of people you would pick to do it. Pretty crazy.

Well, the good news lost in all of this is Low Ki is back, and will presumably be part of DGUSA/EVOLVE moving forward. His angle got over from what im told. And it looks like Sabu will still be in the fold, at least part time, with this Callihan deal.

And something tells me that this won't be the last show ever in The Arena anyway. It's being converted to a 3,000 seat theater, so somebody is going to take the risk, pay the high fee, and try to run it. The new owner is supposedly "above" booking wrestling, but let's see how above board this person is on a vacant weekend when the place is idle and not generating cash. Money talks.

Primo & Epico are pretty awesome, so this could be cool. Primo is a guy who is criminally under used, he's really great in the ring.

Air Boom sucks. I like both guys, but collectively, meh. Too smiley and cheesy and 80's for my taste.

If Bourne gets cut soon, i'd love to see him back in Dragon Gate, where he has tons of fresh matchups. Maybe even Dragon Gate USA too, obviously.
