Who cares at this point? They haven't made the WWE title important in forever. Punk and Dragon have good-great matches and there's a hot chick running around. Take what you can get.

It's not even about the title being important, that ship has sailed (although TNA repaired their title pretty quickly, but I digress). The point, is I am beyond 'taking what I can get' as a fan. There is too much wrestling out there to waste time on shit I don't enjoy. So if it sucks, I blow it off. I don't wan't to invest time in a storyline or a match that ends with a bullshit finish of AJ hopping on the apron to screw one of the participants. I'm just not interested. I get that people like that brand of wrestling, and that's cool. Watch what works for you.
When TNA sucked, I didn't waste my time. Right now, I can't be bothered with WWE or NOAH or lucha, because it's either bad or not my cup of tea. It's a cycle. I rather use my time to watch something that suits my taste.
I remember Paul Heyman would always book the heavy storyline stuff with people like Sandman, Raven, Dreamer, etc. When it came to people like Guerrero or Malenko or RVD or Jerry Lynn, he just let those dudes go out and wrestle. There is a balance. AJ should be goofing around with Santino or The Miz or R-Thruth or some shit like that. I'd rather just watch Bryan & Punk wrestle.Comment

To be fair, as long as the AJ stuff pays off with the obvious SWERVE to help Danielson get the title, that's all that will really matter. It is difficult to watch WWE weekly because the stories and programs are just dragged out ridiculously as they try and fill time.
This AJ skipping around the ring junk is just the WWE's way of filling time. AJ was supposed to SWERVE Punk at No Way Out, for sure...they just changed plans. Danielson was supposed to win at Over the Limit...they just changed plans. So, now, they basically have all this shit to kill time.
Very much WWE-like...take a good idea and program and kill it with fire by dragging it out for weeks and weeks beyond where the storyline is entertaining.
If you sum it up with something simple...
Daniel Bryan loses title, blames it on AJ, AJ is kicked to the curb, tries to redeem herself by getting him another title...that's a perfectly acceptable program and actually, a good one...BUT, they've beaten the dead horse dead. Its just overkill.Comment
-
The problem is, you and I both know they aren't going to book it as a wrestling angle. It's going to end up being some convoluted storyline on Raw. It would be awesome if it was a swerve at a PPV that led to a title change and then it was just AJ is with BLANK now, but it's not going to be.Comment
-
How about both guys tell AJ to hit the bricks, and they have a 45 minute classic? I don't give a fuck who wins. Her shenanigans would be better served for a Kane angle or something. But that's just my elitist/snob talk, I guess.
But from a business perspective, I think both guys nose to nose cutting intense promos on each other and building a serious match would lead to more buys than AJ ever will. Women do not draw, angles involving women do not draw, nearly every Diva segment on RAW has lost viewers for going on a decade and a half now, not a single woman has drawn a dime since Sable, anything measurable backs that up.
Bottom line, is I just can't give a single fuck about Bryan unless they ever give him an edge and drop the nonsense, but that will likely never happen since Vince views him as a geek type character who needs a banana peel to win. It's nearly impossible to get over with Vince unless he's physically attracted to you or you are a monster, just ask Christian.Comment
-
It's not a money making angle, it's just not. Nobody is going to buy a PPV to see who AJ sides with. People buy PPVs to watch good wrestling matches. Not sure why this is so hard for them to comprehend. Why would you buy a PPV and not just wait the next day to find who AJ sided with. Makes no sense, ever.Comment
-
They're not thought of as draws, so don't get frustrated thinking about why they're not given a chance on top. Just enjoy the matches when they do get a chance to work together. Even with the sometimes shit finishes, the rest of the match is usually good. And when they're allowed to have a full on match like they did at that ppv a month ago, it's great.

Daniel Bryan is one of them...still the uber geek to Vince. He even made fun of him on television about it (bury him some more!). Zack Ryder is another. Christian is an old time example...hell, Christian's so good, he's gotten over on his own TWICE...even showing up one of their main guys in a long program...THE ENTIRE way.
I understand if Vince doesn't want to push a guy, that's fine...but once they've gotten themselves over, just fucking run with it.Comment

Not really, the companies will just trade wins in all of the multi man matches. They wont be going for workrate, its more about the symbolism and the moments of guys teaming/facing each other.
Kea could win the Triple Crown, coming off the surprising Champion Carnival win, wouldnt shock me but I dont expect it.
Makabe obviously has no chance, they are just setting uo the big Tanahashi celebration to end the show.
The Muta team is hinting at a triple moonsault finish, so look for that. The gimmick is Kojima doesnt do moonsaults, so that will be the big pop.
Seikmoto & Okabayashi are the best team in the world, and have had great matches with the two giants before.
First four matches are meh, last six are predictable but have a chance to all be fun.Comment
