Didn't they think about that though? They named a guy, whose gimmick is being an unstoppable, undefeated beast, as a replacement in a title match at a PPV was going to force their hand to either give him the belt, beat him, or end in a screwy finish that the fans will hate?

Goes to show how "creative" their creative team is. Since when do they have a problem with triple threat matches? Show/Ryback/Punk with Punk beating Show.

I don't want this to happen, but it makes it so it doesn't use up Brock's PPV appearance and Ryback doesn't have to win/lose/draw

"Have Lesnar take Ryback out Monday on Raw and throw Vince McMahon in there last minute. This is assuming Vince can go physically, of course. This way, you still have a sellable main event that can actually end with a proper decision." I did not come up with this, found it on wrestlezone i think it is and thought this could actually happen.

It still uses a date for Brock that costs money with no benefit since they haven't advertised him.

Aside from using a date for Lesnar like Empire said, no way would people tune in for Vince/Punk for the title. It is a time crunch, but you could have a random lottery for the WWE title, possibly using Smackdown (because you know, we have two shows, three if you count Main Event) to decide who would face Punk at Hell in a Cell. Get an opponent for Punk, gets some heat for the secondary show, but then you still are pushing Ryback as this unstoppable monster who gets jumped by some randoms.

It's laughable how WWE has backed themselves into this corner, with their constant pushing of Cena and the creative team essentially sucking.

At least this Ryback stuff has people talking.

If they think of something creative, they can really hit a HR.

Any way for Ryback to beat the ever living shit out of Punk in such a horrific way that they stop the match and Punk keeps the gold?

Then why would anyone care about Rock vs Punk at the Royal Rumble.

There's over 2 months for Punk to get back in the drivers seat.

Besides, they spend every waking moment on RAW pushing the message that Punk is a pussy bitch for not wanting to give Cena his 1,000,000th shot at the title (despite Cena never beating him).

Actually this is gold, have Ryback beat the shit out of Punk for most the match. Then at the end Paul Heyman walks down the ramp with bolt cutters and a padlock. Punk proceeds to hit Ryback with a chair to briefly knock him down and then Heyman cuts the lock allowing Punk to escape BUT Punk puts on the new padlock Heyman brought.

The kicker would be (I dont even know if this is feasible) Punk swallows the key on camera and takes off through the crowd, lol.

The WWE purchased the Bill Watts Mid-South library.

Ryback vs. CM Punk at last night’s RAW live event in Hartford, Connecticut had been advertised to be a Last Man Standing Match but was not. Ryback ended up winning via DQ when Paul Heyman ran in to break up a pin. After the bell, Ryback could barely get Heyman up for his Shellshocked finisher so he just slammed him instead. Punk then made the save but Ryback laid him out to end the show.
