Meltzer commented on Pro Elite on his pay board:

I heard before the show that they realized they made a mistake in booking Sylvia and Arlovski, read the landscape wrong and had already decided that wasn't the way to go.

Only problem is, for a promotion of that type, what is the way to go? Can't sell tickets. HDNet doesn't pay enough. PPV is clearly not an option. And is anyone in TV going to get into MMA right now and pay enough rights fees? I guess that depends on UFC on Fox. If UFC is a hit, there will probably be some money out there and companies like this are trying to stay in the public eye hoping they will get it. TV is a copycat industry. If UFC on Fox isn't a success, the Pro Elite concept isn't going to work.

Not a good sign since they were hoping to build around Mark Ellis and Reagen Penn as home grown stars.

With the way the UFC is rolling right now and the MMA landscape the way it is, ProElite doesnt have a chance, only Bellator can stay alive with there new deal, besides that only small local shows with no chance of growth will be around

Like I said, unless the UFC of fox is big and other nwtworks want to cash in it will be all UFC all the time, to bad SF couldnt stay a float longer and get the Spike deal
