Pacquiao camp won't even talk fight

The latest round of negotiations for the potential megafight between welterweight champions Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are over before they have even begun.

Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's advisors, and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer both told ESPN.com Monday that they were notified that Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank was not interested in coming to the table.

"We have been informed that Bob Arum is not interested in pursuing a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao at this time," Schaefer said.

Arum already said he is going to try to put together Pac/JMM IV.

I'm pretty ignorant when its come to boxing but it seems to me like this shit would not have flied 40 years ago in Ali, Frazier and Liston's hay day. Those guys wouldn't have avoided each other and would've been chomping at the bit to prove their worth. Here it seems to me as if neither guy wants to fight because they're scared to lose.

Mayweather doesn't want the fight because he might lose and his undefeated record is sacred to him, and now Pac doesnt want the fight because he suddenly looks vulnerable.

The first words I said after the decision was anounced was "robbed" , and then I looked at my buddy, a huge Mayweather guy and we both just shook our heads. "Never going to happen now huh."

too bad. if Pac won that fight clean, Mayweather wouldn't have had a whole lot of choice.

I'm hearing a lot of chatter about the bad decision, but the three ESPN analysts who scored the fight had it even, as did one of the judges. Seems to me, that if so many experts had it even, a decision either way seems reasonable, no? I only saw the last four rounds, so I can't say.

This is why I don't even bother to follow boxing.

I wish they had some sort of tourney system where they couldn't just hide or pick and choose their fights.

I seen this coming from a mile away once the fight was over. I have no doubt in my mind that Manny would fight Mayweather but Bob Arum will protect his investment and keep him far away from tacticians/counter punchers. Mayweather has no one to blame but himself. This fight would have been made a long time ago if he would have manned up but he wanted to put shit in the game and wait for a time just like this, when Manny looked like less of a killer and more vulnerable.

WE WILL NEVER GET MAYWEATHER/PACQUAIO! If we do it will be much like Hopkins/Jones 2 when nobody gives a single fuck.

These clowns screaming robbery simply dont know what the definition of a robbery is. There were so many swing rounds that could have went either way that you cant say either man was robbed if the fight went one way or the other. Its just a classic case of the underdog becoming the fan favorite during the course of the fight because he was putting up a far better effort than expected.

JMM looked to counter all night without leading at all. If Manny wouldnt have came forward and let his hands go there wouldnt have been a fight, it would have been a snoozer. As a judge do you favor aggression and workrate or a defensive style relying heavily on counter punching?

There was no robbery. It was a competitive fight that could have went either way depending on what you favor, much like the 1st 2 fights. If you want to know what a robbery is, check out the Erislandy Lara vs Paul Williams fight from a few months ago. That was a fucking flat out robbery.

Nothing dirty about that. Thats a normal occurrence when you have a southpaw (Manny) against a conventional (JMM) fighter. Their lead foots are on the same side so it happens frequently as well as head butts. f you wanted to take the time to break down the video Im sure Manny has his fair share of moments when he steps on JMM foot.

You rarely see that when you have 2 conventional boxers or 2 southpaws squaring off vs one another.

Yup I said after Saturday, it wasn't going to happen, Floyd can claim how he dominated marquez as how he would beat Manny, so now his motivation for making fight is gone, arima saw how his boy got exposed.

And seriously do we need a 4th fight, pacman just can't do it, in boxing sometimes there is just that guy who you can't beat even with everything days you should, or that the other guy really isn't better than you, its like Tarver vs Jones.

There was the Super Six tournament, but but it started to fall apart near the end.
