It was all rumors from Iole and Gross until the NSAC's meeting.

So now I'm hearing rumblings that the fight is off once again. Haven't heard details yet. Anyone got anything?

The dude who posted something about it on another site is a European-based MMA journalist who usually has been good info on anything regarding Overeem or European MMA in general. Didn't give anything for details, just said its off, so I'm hoping he's wrong or mis-informed.

Yeah, looks like I got trolled... which actually makes me happy. Guy was fucking around, hinting that he meant this fight. But its Rogers not being able to get a Visa to fight Timmy Syvlia at DREAM.

As a person who is aware that 90%+ of athletes use, I'm not sold that Overeeem does. His build is quite possible natural, he's a genetic freak. He gained 40-50 lbs of lean mass in a couple of years. Well within reason for someone who wasn't lifting, and constantly starving themselves.
So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

Whether he's on something now or not, I think it's understood by most that in Japan, he was almost definitely on.

With no testing, you could say being on whatever was the norm at one point.

Considering the guy is an elite athlete whose life is about training, it is not that hard to believe he could add that amount of size in 5 years.

he didnt even gain that much

He fought at 205, straving himself to maintain a low weight, he was easily 220-225 range before cutting

Now he is 256, so he roughly put on 30 lbs over the years, before that he wasnt weight training and doing the style of lifting he does now

I think everyone is on something, every sport, so I don't really care, but when people just say 'look at him!' that isnt proof, most of the time its the guys that dont look like it, see Big Tim, Barnett, etc...

It wasnt 5 years. It was more like 35 lbs in 2 years while maintaining or even lowering his Body fat%.
The fact hes an elite athlete actually makes it more implausible its not like he was starting from a scratch body.He was already working out and lifting consistently.

Im pretty sure Mir was roiding up and his body fat was clearly part of that 20 lb increase.

As I said before this reminds me alot of the David Boston thread at MM. This whole test dodging makes it a little more obvious.
Best reason to have a license.

I gained 25lb while lowering my body fat from near 20% to under 10% in about 4 months. He also wasn't really weight training much, effectively, if at all while fighting @ 205. He has a large frame, 205 is way small for him.

What he did is well within reason for a natural athlete, it's not the least bit improbable. Not saying he didn't or hasn't used.. but his physique and weight gain certainly isn't any evidence of it.

Overeem fought at HW a couple times weighing in at 220-225 range

Against Paul B it was 11/2007 and he was 225 lbs

Against Cro Cop in 9/2008, 10 months later he was 242 lbs, his next big jump in weight was against James Thompson at 10/2009 where he was around 255 lbs which he has been pretty much since than

So he went from 225 to 256, 31 lbs in 2 years

He has said in the past he rarely if ever weight trained to stay in the LHW class, he didnt start lifting until he decided to go to HW, Overeem gassed badly in almost all his fights at LHW when they wouldnt end in the 1 round, he clearly wasnt a LHW and a natural HW, he has a big frame
