I've never seen such a 'good' team go on such a slump like they have. Lost 9 straight and Hossa/Toews are not producing at all. I guess this can be attributed to them playing 8 of 9 on the opponents ice. It doesn't get much better going to the Garden to play the Rangers and then to C-Bus.

For some reason Chicago has a rough time against shitty teams so I wouldn't say that's a given. With their bad play anything is possible. Heck, the Oilers have taken 3 of 3 from them this season.

My Blackhawks Thread

Since the random thoughts thread is gone, ill have to post my random Blackhawks thread in here.

Well tonight, the streak got extended to 9. But I have no issues with the way the Hawks played. The Hawks held Nashville to 3 shots in the 3rd period, and gave up the go-ahead goal on a weak deflection. 3 more soft goals tonight. But they were clearly the better team.

But the Hawks finally played how they should, if they continue to play like they did tonight, I have no worries things will turn around.

Last season, the Caps lost eight in a row before the year changed over. Sometimes, no matter the team, they are going to struggle- things aren't working, someone might be playing hurt, a long road streak, etc.

Hard to believe that the Hawks are struggling, because their third line is arguably the best in the business and they have plenty of scoring to go around. But sometimes it just happens. Better to have it happen now and not at playoff time.

The Hawks defense has been awful. Crawford lets in too many soft goals and we really don't have a defenseman capable of caarrying the puck this season. The offense I have no answers for but the power play has been bad and really predictable all year even before the slump.
