Sharks acquire Dominic Moore from Tampa Bay

The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward Dominic Moore and a seventh round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a second round selection, previously acquired from Minnesota, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

"Dominic is an extremely versatile player that has performed in a lot of important playoff games the last two years," vice president and general manager Doug Wilson said. "We feel that he is a great fit in several areas and his veteran presence will benefit our team greatly."

The 31-year-old Moore has played in 56 games this season with the Lightning, posting four goals and 15 assists with 48 penalty minutes. Last season, he posted a career-high 18 goals in 77 games for the Lightning.

The Thornhill, Ontario native has played in 41 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, including 37 over the last two seasons for Tampa Bay and Montreal, posting seven goals and nine assists.

In 507 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Toronto, Buffalo, Florida, Montreal and Tampa Bay, Moore has 67 goals, 112 assists and 343 penalty minutes.

Moore was originally selected in the third round (95th overall) by the Rangers.

All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.
