Hal Gill + for Geoffrion, Slaney, and a 2nd

    Hal Gill plus a conditional 2013 5th for Geoffrion, Slaney, and a 2012 2nd.

Guess Canadiens are calling it a season.

Decent pickup for Nashville. Insurance for Suter?

I wouldn't call it insurance for Suter, because I really don't think they will be trading him away. I sure as hell wouldn't. I would take my chances and roll the dice, and hope he resigns, or if I have to trade him, trade his rights away at the draft. This is what is stupid about Nashville and I wish these stupid owners would get their head out of their asses.

The Preds have $13M open in cap space, but they are a budget team. Well you have all these star players, and you need to add more. Time to open up the budget. Nashville in my opinion is one superstar forward, and another top 6 away from winning a cup, or atleast being one of those teams you talk about in a legit "who could win it".

With Gill, it just makes their defence just that much more of a wall in front of another wall.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Everything im hearing is Suter wont resign and if they dont trade him they get nothing.

We have a better chance to sign Shea for the long haul. I would love to see Shea and Suter signed to long term deals but i know deep down it just wont happen. At this point im hoping they manage to get one guy to stay. Weber is the sexier name to most fans but Suter logs more ice time i dont know which one i'd want if they only keep one.
The cost of living is cheap here and no state income tax cmon guys stick around.

I hate to see Blake go as he was a "local" kid but his family has those MTL ties to good for him.

I like this move though, everything ive heard about Hal Gill today has been good. One of you guys care to fill me in more? Ill admit i
didnt know of him before today. Huge guy, 105 games of playoff experience, etc.

Preds have won 21 straight at home and they play those tough Central teams, i really like this years squad.

Suter's issue is simple, and it has to do with what I said, the budget team. The Predators are your 4th or 5th place Western team right and the ownership hasn't done anything to put them out the edge and make them a legit conteder for a cup. Suter wants to play on a contender team, and basically has put the ball in the Preds court to make that happen and show him that they are actually in this to win it. They will not get him back if they don't do anything soon. This Gill trade helps, but they need to a) go get some big players and b) spend some money.

Preds need to go after guys like Derek Roy and Jeff Carter. Carter wants out of Columbus, and with his contract you fill a "long term" need. Maybe he works better in Nashville, but either way at least you show Suter you are out there to make things happen.
