Zuffa Begins to Go After Viewers of Pirated PPVs

In what will prove to be a much talked about issue in what is likely to be a never-ending battle between promoters of PPV events and those who stream them illegally, Zuffa LLC is going after the consumers as well as the distributors. Despite warnings on the shows, nobody has ever gone after individual consumers.

As part of legal action against the web site GreenFeedz, which streamed UFC 130 to UFC 142 illegally and was threatened with legal action, Zuffa was able to obtain e-mail addresses, usernames and each individual event streamed, as well as IP addresses of everyone who watched an event through that web site.

They will be legally going after the individual consumers for copyright violations.

This is like trying to destroy an ant hill with a magnifying glass, one ant at a time.

Let it go, Dana. The world is changing, it will always change, it's time to change the business model.

Promoters didn't fight to keep closed circuit alive, they moved to PPV. It's time to move to something else. Vince is trying to start a network, and might move his PPV's there. It looks like it won't work, but he's smart enough to realize that PPV is being wiped out as people become more internet savvy.

If you're really against this you shut down the guys hosting the streams, not the likely 10000 ppl watching.
