Rangers Sign Kreider

Kreider has been signed, burning a year of his entry level contract and he's practicing with the Rangers. This to me suggests he is in contention for a roster spot in the playoffs if we run dry on offence at any point, why else would they sign him and shorten his rookie deal? Is he eligible though?

He is eligible for the NHL playoffs. With the Whale making it to the playoffs as well pulling players from their lineup to join the rangers (especially early on) would probably be a pain in the ass.

The only spare player the rangers have right now too is John Scott so yah they needed to sign him.
