question to Arsenal fans...was Bergkamp more important to the team's success than Henry?

Bergkamp was important, no doubt. He was a great second striker slash creator. He was plenty capable of scoring, and his creativity helped more than just Henry - it helped Pires and Ljundberg coming in off the wings as constant threats. But Bergkamp was not the sole creator. Henry, Pires, Ljundberg, Wiltord, and even Viera could all create to some degree. Pires could have moved inside behind Henry and done pretty decent job (I think that's where Villarreal played him).
Henry wasn't more valuable in my eyes simply because he scored more. It was because he created too. He was a constant threat because of his pace. He could create space with his pace or his technique, run at defenders, and finish from almost anywhere. As a whole, I think he did more for the side than Bergkamp was able to.Comment
