I'd love to make fun of them, but to basically be flat from last time, against the Olympics, isn't that bad.

The bad part, is it looks like only hardcores are watching these things, because they lost no viewers to the Olympics, and the rating didn't really increase as the show went on, so nobody cared about Karate Man or Shogun from a casual perspective. So unless they throw away millions and give the people a heavyweight title fight again, the same 2.2 million people are going to watch every time.

Ricky Steamboat will destroy Dan Henderson mark my words.

Good night of fights. Vera put on a good performance while Shogun displays to the world that lungs and jogging havent yet penetrated his hometown in Brazil.

I doubt FOX is happy about 2.2 million viewers every time, not money well spent

Yeah, the spin will have to stop at some point, and eventually FOX will want them to deliver something better. "Oh, this wasn't a great lineup", "Oh, THE AVENGERS opened the same night", "Oh, we went against the Olympics", etc etc etc.

It's like when Dana blames the market when they don't draw live, when in reality it's almost always the product which is all that matters. 3,000 paid to see a show in Florida or San Jose or wherever because the card stunk, not because the market can't draw.

Just. Deliver. Numbers. It's all networks care about.

It's like the old school pro wrestling promoters who would draw a bad house and say, "well, it was rainy, people didn't want to leave the house".

Then the next month, another bad house, and "well, it was sunny, people wanted to be outside".

It's the product, anything else is excuses.

the last two fox cards have been good. hopefully they can continue that. getting some promotion during football broadcasts can help out a bunch.

Promotion is one thing...BIG fights is another. You can put awesome match-ups on the undercard of the show but you need a BIG main event to drag people in, get people talking.

They should be getting one PPV co-main quality or something like that for main of the next Fox show.

This all goes back to the FOX debut, they can downplay it all they want, but they lost a lot of casual eyeballs forever that night because the JDS/Cain fight sucked. The could have saved a good portion of those viewers by airing Bendo/Guida, and even had a chance to do so on tape after they already knew it was awesome.

9 million viewers that night, many first time viewers curious about this UFC thing, who are never coming back. You get one shot for a first impression, Forrest/Bonner worked out, FOX did not.

I think a big problem Is the dates they picked to put the shows. Going up against Cinco De Mayo, The avengers and The Olympics is very stupid scheduling. Maybe FOX should take a better approach on showcasing the UFC when nothing else is going on. That would be the best way of doing it.

Machida would be able to pick Hendo a part and stay away to win a decision, but his chin has been checked a couple times now, Shogun and Jones dropped him before the guilltoine choke

Dan would only need to land one to win, plus Machida's style is with his chin straight up, its part of his backing up in and out style but still a major target, it has always been hanging out there

Also, I think it's safe to say Shogun will never have cardio again, it has to be because his knees are shot, to many surgerys and he just cant put in that work I guess

If shogun fights every fight at less than 60 percent, imagine how good he would be if he had cardio.

We do know, he had cardio back when he was considered one of the top 3 fighters in the world, those days are long gone

The only fight he had 'cardio' in since those days was against Machida the first time, but that was a slower paced, outside range fight

I mean his potential against Jones.
