Seeing how loud the football team is, I can only think how rocking that arena could be if they get going there. Que up the 6th man!
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

If you count the goalie. I'm sure Americans won't count Mike Smith in that.

There are a number of WHL teams in the Washington state area that I think are reasonably well supported. With no NBA team coming any time soon, I think there would be a market for a second major 'winter' sport team there

All the PNW teams in the top half for attendance. Offer reasonable ticket prices and I think there is definitely an opportunity there for the NHL to make some noise

Seattle already hosts a Jr. A team with the Seattle Thunderbirds. Look at this sweat logo.

If any team moves to Seattle I hope the ownership is smart to make the team colours the same as these and the Seahawks, basically like what Pittsburgh does with all its teams. Dump the Coyote name, come up with something good, and these colours and win in that area.

It's interesting because the WHL has an entire U.S. division with teams in Portland, OR, and four teams in Washington State, including Seattle, Tri-City, Spokane and Everett. Some strong team history in those five teams right there. It's really fucked when you think of the WHL's travel with kids going from Portland to Brandon Manitoba.

Looking at people, Seattle is the biggest city in the 'dub' and they are averaging about 3800 people a game. Their arena seats 6000. But that is junior, so it could do much better with a pro hockey team. You start getting big name players there, people will show up.

I would guess if they go to Seattle the WHL team will relocate too, ala the Manitoba Moose. Not sure if they'd be able to maintain both teams with stable interest.

Don't forget Seattle was the first US team to win the Stanley Cup!

And people do support the Thunderbirds really well in the area. They are not actually in Seattle, but in a brand new arena in Kent which is quite away from the city.

Moose were AHL and the arena was been took over by the Jets coming in. They couldn't have split the ice time with two pro teams like that. The Seattle WHL team has its own 6000 seat arena and will probably not move. They don't really need to with their own spot, and he NHL team will need a 15,000+ arena. Plus there are a few other CHL teams in NHL cities, so it should be ok. The Edmonton Oil Kings play out of Rexall which is way to big for them, but are very well supported. The fans will still support the WHL team because the tickets are much cheaper. $20 max for them, where as NHL is $60+ to start.

Hitmen do the same and lead the WHL in attendance. Saddledome is still only half full, but they get a pretty good crowd going. Not a lot of options in Calgary for 10k people

Fuck Seattle, Milwaukee should get a NHL franchise first.

Yeah if it fails to happen, they will go to Seattle. I think it's already a done deal.

Vancouver was denied moving their AHL team to Seattle because "it's no longer available for hockey"
