It's a combination of Carter being a genuinely nice person, and not understanding that 97% of the people in wrestling are self serving con men. Hulk Hogan being one of the most charismatic and persuasive of them all.

        She's a naive mark.

She's a nice lady by all accounts, but it takes a certain level of naive markness to buy the shit she has guys like Vinny Ru and Hogan/Bischoff sell when her company continues to lose money under their watch.

        I mean, numbers don't lie.

I haven't listened to those clips in the OP yet, but I've heard her say in the past that since Hogan has come on board, all numbers across the board have gone up. And I think to myself, what numbers? They've done the same rating for years on end for Impact, and PPV buys have actually slowly gone down to the point that Meltzer doesn't even bother tracking them anymore because the estimates are so low that it's a waste of time. House shows are no better than they've ever been, either.

So what are these numbers that are on the rise? Just because Spike keeps paying you to provide a slightly above average number for them does not mean you are healthy. The day Spike pulls the plug, is the day you are no longer in business, because you have no other revenue stream.
