    LOL UFC

Was not at the show the other night for UFC on FX 3, but from a buddy of mine that showed up said the attendance was announced in the 6K range, but that most of those tickets were freebies as in, more than half and the crowd was dead.

Then Dana went on a rant post-show saying they hadn't been in Miami in 6 years and that it'd be longer than 6 years before they show up again...

LAFF...they give the city of Miami Demetrius Johnson v. Ian McCall and expect the city of Miami to skip whatever better thing they are doing? Dana, don't know nuffin. THEN, doesn't book a single ATT fighter on the entire card. No Hector Lombard, Mike T. Brown...no nada and they expect people to pay to go see a card of no names.

F- Joe Silva and Dana for his habitual excuse making.

    It was 3500 paid.

Dana sounds so pathetic blaming the market, especially considering Zuffa just ran a show that set the all time low for the Shark Tank in San Jose, which was a certified MMA hotbed that once owned the MMA North American attendance record (and still holds the U.S. record, I think) before Zuffa killed the town.

There is one reason people don't pay to see a show. When you don't give them something they want to see. It's really that simple. There is not enough interest in the UFC to run as many shows as they do, and everything measurable and quantifiable points to that.

Two years ago, I saw this coming and talked about two possible paths Zuffa could take. Quantity/volume shows, or a smaller number of quality shows. They chose the former. Dana has an inflated sense of how popular his product is and how fast the sport has grown. The business plan is moving faster than the growth, and it's a self fulfilling deal now, because running too many shows is now hurting the growth.

        Terrible, terrible job.

Like you said, the local guys should have been all over the undercard, as the "real" draws, and you put Creepy/Johnson on top for TV main, and also because it's obviously an important fight in terms of the title so it gets the ceremonial position on the show.

Hector Lombard v. Tim Boetsch is in a month...move this as the main event.
          Johnson v. McCall
Mike T. Brown v. Danny Pineda which happened 2 weeks ago...

You have yourself a card people will come to see.

Lombard should have been the featured fighter. CUBAN. The Cubans would have been all in to support the man.

Not one iota of sense goes into match making in areas outside of the hot beds they are used to, and even that is flimsy.

Lombard signed at the end of April and booked against Stann for August, after McCall/DJ was booked as the main event.

Stann wasn't ready to fight by early June and when he's hurt a week ago, they change it to the Boetsch fight and move it up a week to 149.

So, Joe Silva sucks at booking three times?

                    Cool.

It's not Joe's fault Stann got hurt or that Lombard may not have wanted to fight on less than two months notice.

I don't know about most expensive organization to follow. They have tons of free shit available on cable and the occasional network TV show. If you can't afford to buy an occasional PPV, that sucks, but you can still watch a bunch of free fights on cable leading up to the main card.
