Confirmed: New TUF Coaches - Shane Carwin & Roy Nelson

    Carwin on Big Country:

“I also asked to coach against Roy Nelson. The fans know how I like to conduct myself both in and out of the Octagon, and I respect every fighter, coach, official and fan in the UFC. But I cannot respect a man like Roy Nelson – because he shows no respect himself. He is a keyboard warrior who doesn’t have the guts to talk trash to my face, but now he’s going to have to be in the same room, the same gym and finally the same Octagon as me.”
This fight should be awesome, Nelson can take a punch and Carwin hasn't fought in over a year.

I had no idea that Carwin had beef with Nelson.... Had he ever said anything before he was set to coach against him?

Are both guys coming off multiple losses?

Way to build up a new star! Roll out a part time fighter and a guy who isnt going anywhere in the division!

Just another sign the UFC brass has been in over there head since the FOX deal started, either just bad decisions or mailing it in, you decide

If I remember correctly it was just Bonnar on twitter saying how that'd be cool. Dana shot it down quickly.

Do people still watch TUF? Honestly? Seems like every season they've rolled out after Rampage/Reshad/Kimbo has gotten lamer and lamer.

Those rumors were misguided. Cowboy is fighting Guillard next month in Colorado.

TUF has its built in audience that doesn't seem to grow or dip below (a million). As long as they stay on Friday nights (one more season, most likely), it will continue to be a failure (it doesn't even do great in 18-49).

The show itself has only been worth watching for a few select seasons of the 15 they've done (the first, third, fifth and tenth seasons).

Was 10 with Diaz, Maynard, gamburyan ect.? If so, that was the deepest pool of fighters by far, and probably one of the few seasons I watched every episode.

Nope jlmiles, that was the 5th with BJ and Pulver....a great season all around (the quality of the fighters and the rivalry between coaches).

Last time I watched TUF was with Roy Nelson and Kimbo. Not this time, Dana.
