In case anybody missed it, Gabe Sapolsky came on the VSN Wrestling Podcast with me & FedEx and plugged the shows:

Joe Lanza and Rich Kraetsch are honored to welcome the Vice President of Dragon Gate USA, Owner of Evolve Wrestling and former booker for Ring of Honor Gabe Sapolsky to the program. Gabe gives his first response to the Wrestling Observer Report that he asked for a job with Ring of Honor, we also ask Gabe if he was the mastermind behind the shutdown of WrestlingBay/RUDOS.

Gabe reveals Ring of Honor and WWNLive iPPV negotiations during WrestleMania Weekend and we cover the video editing contest at DGUSA.tv and Dragon Gate USA's upcoming shows in Taylor, MI and Chicago, IL.

Personally, I believe these are the two best lineups DGUSA has put together since the early days, particularly night two.

I think as the shows have taken form, Fed has lucked out because Sunday looks just fantastic. That Tozawa/Generico could end up being a title match if Gargano drops the belt to Tozawa on Saturday, and then finishes up vs Taylor on Sunday on his way to the WWE.

Taylor/Gargano video to catch you up. It takes you up to the EVOLVE shows from last month where Gargano successfully defended the Open the Freedom Gate:

Fantastic Johnny Gargano video, very well produced, people ask about Gargano and what he's about, check this out. Rumor has it he has a WWE deal waiting for him after this weekend, I guess we'll find out, but he'll be there eventually.

Lots of buzz that Masada is getting a big push here. I don't see him listed for Saturday, but he will probably squash Jake Manning on Sunday.

This looking like Gargano's last weekend before WWE?

Looking that way. The booking is either paint-by-numbers or a really clever swerve to make you think he's gone (wouldn't be the first time Gabe pulled that move, so you never know).

-Saturday, Gargano defends against Akira Tozawa, who is the hottest act in Dragon Gate and the #1 heel.
-Sunday, Tozawa faces El Generico, who is being positioned as the lead babyface.
-Sunday, Gargano faces Chuck Taylor in an "I Quit" match to blow off the long feud.

So you can see how this is laid out. Gargano loses the belt Saturday, then does the job for Taylor on the way out. The Tozawa/Generico feud is now for the title, with Low Ki in the mix when he eventually comes back.

Plus it looks like Masada is getting a push from what i'm hearing, so they would have Generico/Low Ki/Masada on top on the face side, not to mention Jon Davis who is doing the win streak gimmick, and whatever faces don't end up with the tag titles. So it looks like they were ready for this and have plenty of guys to run with on top.

When you break it down, it's pretty clear that DGUSA/EVOLVE has a deeper roster than ROH at this point. The only Japanese talent I even mentioned was Tozawa, so when you toss in YAMATO, CIMA, and whatever other DG natives they decide to use at whatever point, plus AR Fox, Rich Swann, Samuray Del Sol, Bobby Fish, etc etc you've got what is probably the best indy roster since the heyday of ROH.
