Also someone else mentioned this, not sure who, but it's 2012. We're in the reality TV era, does it really matter that our stars are so much bigger than us. That WAS pro wrestling, the out of this world, gignatic superstars, etc., etc. now these fuckers are up at 2:00 a.m. replying to their fans on Twitter. The biggest stars on TV are the same size as you and I. Athletes and celebrities really aren't the pedestal they once were. Does it REALLY matter that your world champion is 6'1? I was in Chicago during Money in the Bank, I don't know one person in that arena gave a since fuck that CM Punk wasn't 300 lbs.

If it took a while for fans to adjust to smaller wrestlers, that was a self fulfilling prophecy by McMahon anyway. He's the one who put bodybuilders and giants on TV forever, at the expense of more talented people, and educated his audience to believe bigger = better. He's only ever pushed smaller men because something forced his hand, and it's usually a reluctant push.

Or he steps into the writers meeting to remind everybody that Rey Mysterio has to lose his title soon.

Yet, the WWE's "Top 50 Superstars" list..a Vince-centric list...is filled with normal sized wrestlers.

Michaels, Hart, Austin, Steamboat, Rey Mysterio, Roddy Piper, Eddie, Gorgeous George, Randy Savage, John Cena, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Edge, and Jerry Lawler.

That would be...14 of the Top 20 being normal dudes or guys without the Vince-centric look?

You have to strike a bunch of guys off of the "normal looking dudes" list when they have exaggerated steroid bodies.

                      Vince didn't push this guy:

                      He pushed this one:

Agreed. Hart had to roid up pre push, Piper was bursting at the seams, Eddie, Savage, Cena and Edge are all users.

Its a pretty shitty list...but regardless...its an example of this "bigger is better" shit being asinine...the guys the WWE promotes more often than not, are normal sized dudes.

The idea that the Hulk Hogan's, the Goldberg's, and The Rock's being the norm...the dudes that are yolked out of their mind and super larger than life characters are A) not as big as you are led to believe and B) are fewer and far in between as top guys even in the E as people are led to believe.

Fact is, lots of big dudes suck in the ring...and I'm not talking about them being Ric Flair in the ring or anything, but most big dudes suck in the ring, can't be carried to anything passable, and despite what a guy like Nash says...who was carried maybe once or twice to something legitimate...its important.

They look like athletes, not yolked up giants.

They're wearing boots, but Andre was only 6'10ish.
