Why does the WWE have an inferiority complex when it comes to the UFC?

Last night during Brock Lesnar vs HHH, Hunter told Brock "this isn't the UFC Brock this the WWE" which made me .

But when you look back at things Hunter has said in the past this isn't the first time he went out of his way to bash the UFC just last year he made comments about the UFC needing to "EVOLE" not really sure what that means exactly maybe he means they should become a publicly traded company? I just don't know but he isn't the only one with power in the WWE to talk down to them. VKM himself went out of his way to bash the UFC about their ratings on TV which is odd seeing how the WWE isn't doing the best in ratings themselves but he also ignores the fact that the UFC isn't in the TV rating business they are in the PPV business.

So can someone tell me why the WWE seems to have such an issue with the UFC?

Jealous they stole half of their audience. Jealous they still can have profitable PPV. Jealous they can still create stars. That's all it is. When Vince is jealous of something he either tries to create his own or he belittles it.

Both Triple H and Vince don't 'get' MMA and do not care for UFC.

Shane McMahon is a huge fan, and had Vince watch a PPV with him once (I believe it was Chuck vs Rampage). Vince came away impressed with the production and liked the charisma of Chuck & Rampage, but he didn't like the short fights and didn't understand why people would pay money for that.

Obviously he's been talking to Trips, who a few months back made a smarmy comment about a short main event on a UFC show and how WWE never rips the viewer off like that.

What neither understand, is UFC does not bury their undercard, and even though they have thinner cards these days, they always make a genuine effort to get EVERYBODY over to the audience. Something wrestling used to be really good at, but has forgotten to do. Now guess which company does a better job making new stars over the last decade?

Also, I love how it's UFC that needs to evolve, yet the WWE has been using the same tired TV & PPV formula since the 90's.

Its funny too, because Dana really seems to look up to Vince and he never really has much bad to say about the WWE or Vince. He's obviously aware that a lot of his fan base came from that product, so he hasnt taken too many cheap shots that im aware of, which is rare for Dana. But on the whole I dont think Vince or Triple H have had too much negative to say either, considering they also know they've lost much of their fan base to the product. Ive always thought there was a strange mutual respect between Dana and Vince.. but maybe its more one-sided than I assumed.

Dana definitely respects Vince, Vince is the only guy he never talks shit about ever. He also openly admits to copying the WWE formula.

I get the impression that Vince fucking hates the UFC, hates how far they've come, and hates that he can't really compete head to head with them. But he has to no sell UFC for business reasons and probably for pride. Every quarterly investor call, somebody will ask Vince about UFC, and every time he gves the same answer "We aren't competition, we are two totally different products, blah blah blah". Ok.

HHH at one point was one of the guys saying MMA was a total work.

Don't forget, Vince tried to steal Goldie away and was going to pay him to no show a UFC card. That would've been an interesting start to some kind of war (of words).
