AC celebrated at home like they won the world cup after the 1st leg. Messi never scored against an Italian club until the 2nd leg. I was pulling for AC but they had too many injuries and their youth and inexperience showed on the pitch. They never got a feel for the speed of the game at all. Last thing I'll say is Fabregas is too old for Camp Nou.

Fuck kinda Liverpool fan are you?

Maybe you are unawares of this, but most supporters of clubs from a given nation will often support clubs from that same nation when it comes to European play. Even sometimes when it means supporting a rival. Because having clubs from the same league do well in Europe not only maintains the image of the league, it also has direct affect on the number of qualifying spots a nation gets. Having clubs go out early consistently has a price - ask Serie A and the three Champions League spots they have.

I'm sure he's aware of that. And I'm with him. I just couldn't ever root for United. Never ever. Even if it's better for my club in the long term I couldn't get over my hatred for them. I take too much pleasure in seeing them lose. Same goes for Arsenal, Spurs, and Liverpool just to a marginally lesser extent.

I don't really care about the image of the league, and I don't think the top English clubs will ever consistently do poorly enough to lose that 4th spot so I'm not really worried. Plus they're doing well in the Europa league so that helps.

I thought this was a common thing for all sports. If Michigan bows out early of the tournament I'd rather see a B1G team win it, even if it's State or OSU.

I never root for my division rivals to win, in any sports. Might be less common than you think.

1- England are in no threat of losing their spot in Europe.
2- A Liverpool supporter could never root of the Scum. Under no circumstances. This goes FAR beyond football. Fuck Manchester, it's dirty, it's dirty, it's dirty, and did I mention it's dirty?

Never root for English teams either, mainly due to not being English. Most of the fans on the main soccer forum I post at don't want English teams to win in Europe either. If it got to a point where coefficients were under threat, then I would. It's not that I actively want them to lose either, I just don't care most of the time.

I actively want the teams I mentioned to lose, along with QPR.

I would only root for Manchester if it directly helped us. Like them winning got us a CL spot or won us the league (a boy can dream).

I don't root, but I don't root against either. I actually want the English teams to advance as far as they can . But that's only because United's record vs English comp in Europe is very good.

                        Ain't that right Ky?

                        J/K silly. J/K

I'd rather watch EPL teams play and make it farther then lose interest in a Russian team advancing.

I can see where they are coming from. I've only followed Liverpool closely this season. Compared to being a Bills fan my whole life, I root against New England in every possible situation.

Chiellini seems dirty as fuck when trying to win headers. He could have gotten a red 3 fouls ago.
