Evgeni Malkin could be KHL bound

    Rotoworld

According to reports out of Russia, Evgeni Malkin has agreed to play for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL should the start of the 2012-13 NHL season be delayed by a lockout.

Malkin's agent, J.P. Barry, has confirmed that contract talks have occurred with teams in Moscow and Magnitogorsk that would see him play at home on a week-to-week basis if a lockout happens, but nothing has been finalized yet. NHL owners plan to lock out their players when the current CBA expires on Sept. 15 if a new deal isn't reached.

Meh, not a huge shock. I bet a lot of Russians will go to the KHL. Happened in 2005, you saw the Euro leagues getting all kinds of NHL players, while some others just chilled out and waited. But it is a week to week thing for Malkin, so you know as soon as the NHL comes back, he is back to the Penguins. No chance he leaves for Russia full time while the NHL is still playing.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Yeah, a week-to-week basis doesn't worry me. That would be huge for the KHL, as they could attract more than just the Russians. Heck, the possibility exists that some guys could stick around the whole season, if not longer. Who knows how this will play out, but the KHL will only benefit from an NHL lockout.

To bad watching KHL hockey is fucking hard on the eyes. Arenas need better lighting and obviously everything is in Russian, so basically, it is just watching 'the game'. I normally turn some KHL on during the day when I am bored and have it play for background. Can be some decent hockey once in awhile.
