Jerry Lawler Suffered Heart Attack During RAW; In Stable Condition

Lawler may have been unconscious but they took him away during the match.

He had just worked a match earlier in the show and returned to commentary. During the next match, awkward sounds could be heard like someone was having trouble breathing. Then commentary stopped, you could see Cole reaching beneath the table, the guys in the ring stalled and everyone in the crowd was up and staring at the table.

    ----

Cole says they're doing CPR on Lawler in the back.

    Updates to come...

Just got some serious Owen Hart flashbacks. This is bad.

Update from Cole, Lawler is on his way to hospital, receiving oxygen but IS breathing on his own.

Damn. Good to hear he is breathing on his own and hope he makes a full recovery soon.

He's in ER waiting for a CT scan. He's responding to stimulus so that's a good sign.

Barring being a morbid SOB... I heard he grabbed his arm and went down after having trouble breathing.

Had to be a heart attack.

Think it was definitely a stroke, encouraging to hear he's stabilized though. Relatively sure that we saw his last match tonight though, it's been long overdue though.

Saw this point mentioned on the Meltzer board, although it doesn't mean much, it's beyond an amazing thing that whether he had a stroke/heart attack/whatever, it happened at a WWE show and not some shitty indy. Medical personnel was able to reach him as soon as he went into distress and do what they were trained to do.

At your average indy, odds are the people call 911 and have to wait however long.

Yea, not to sound insensitive at all, but if you're going to have a heart attack/stroke or for that matter any serious health issue, a live national broadcasted program is probably the "safest" place to have one.

Hope Lawler comes out of this OK. Frankly, he's a role model. He makes me feel almost moral.

I'm not a fan of Lawler as a commentator and never have been, but he's on the (very) short list of legitimate local legends and one of the top draws in North American wrestling history. A truly historical figure and Hall of Famer in any credible wrestling hall of fame. Thank god the man didn't die on the air, and it looks like he's going to make it.

Somebody on twitter said that they should pull his strap down in the hospital, because Jerry needs a big comeback. What an awesome line.

His gf said it was a heartattack.

He actually DIED backstage, but the revived him.

Almost had a Masawa death on our hands.
