Former WWE Diva Stacy Carter ("The Kat" and "Miss Kitty"), the ex-wife of Jerry Lawler, says the King is being taken out of sedation and is now responsive after undergoing more heart procedures on Tuesday.

There is now fear that Lawler might have suffered brain damage during RAW after suffering a heart attack, when his brain was deprived of oxygen for several minutes.

Carter released this statement on Facebook:

"I have an update on Jerry. The docs are removing his ventilation & taking him out of sedation. He is responsive, which is great!!! It took a while to revive him last night so there's the concern of brain damage. He had some tests done which will show how much if any damage there is due to the lack of oxygen to his brain. Unfortunately, the results won't be in until in the morning. I appreciate all the calls, texts, tweets, & Facebook messages of support & I know Jerry will too. Thanks everybody!!"

If the 20 minute thing is true, he probably does have brain damage.

      What a terrible story.

On the bright side, I'm looking at the story of a former soccer player Fabrice Muamba who was clinically dead for 78 minutes before being revived and he miraculously suffered no brain damage and made a full recovery. Granted he's 38 years younger than Lawler, but it's something to be hopeful for.

          Hope for the best.

Shows just how random this stuff is. Think his father passed away when he was young.....but Lawler doesn't drink or do drugs. (Young) women have been his vice.

            From JR's blog...

I say with all sincerity that I feel that Jerry and I have not taken our last road trip nor have we commentated our last match together. There's a Cracker Barrel in our future and another karaoke concert in the rental car where King sings with a British accent to a Beatles tune not to mention him bemoaning his beloved Cleveland sports teams, the Indians and the Browns.
Just imagine some of the millions of stories they've told one another when they traveled the world together.

Wow if he was dead for 20 minutes that is insane. Hope he can make a recovery similar to that of that soccer player.

I highly doubt the recent matches had anything to do with the heart attack, but to answer the question .... fans are buying what he's selling. Even at 62.

20m sounds pretty crazy. If you are dead for that long...dead is dead. But, he was getting forced oxygen, despite his heart not functioning to circulate it, so that oxygen may have helped a bunch in some medical way to provide time for that 20m to limit the brain damage as little as possible.

Lawler ain't had a vacation since JFK was in office.

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler continues to recover in a hospital in Montreal, Canada, after suffering a heart attack during Monday's Raw broadcast.

Lawler's family members are with him, including son and former WWE performer Brian Christopher Lawler, who released a statement Tuesday evening concerning his father's condition. Though stable, the concern now is whether he suffered brain damage following the heart attack.

His message reads: “Ok, here’s the latest real update. Lauren and I are here at the hospital in Montreal. He does not look good at all. He is responsive to questions that he is asked which is very good. His sedation and breathing support are being lowered slowly right now. He was shocked a total of 7 times at the arena and underwent a balloon stint to open up a clogged artery when he arrived at hospital. Everyone out there needs to say a special prayer for his brain at this point, please. Tests on his brain will not be available until the morning. One of us two will keep all you guys informed as we know more.”

Stacy Carter, Lawler's former wife, remains optimistic on "The King." She tweeted late Tuesday night, "Gonna try to get some sleep. Been a long 24 plus hours. I just know there will be some good news about @jerrylawler 's condition tomorrow!!!"

They had to shock ol boy 7 times and perform the balloon stint.

That nigga was dead on arrival in the back...the entire crowd chanting Jerry...Jerry...Jerry...they pulled that singlet down, hit him with the shock, he balled up his fist and had a true Memphis style comeback.

Ain't no better way for Jerry to go...

Blocked arteries got the ol fireball to the face. Thought it had Jerry down and out in the corner and BOOM, fireball to the face.

If this is confirmed that is amazing news! Way to fight King and an amazing job by the entire medical staff. I don't expect to see Lawler back anytime soon, but he will be back soon enough and that arena is going to erupt when that theme music hits!

Probably due to the fact that EMS personnel were giving him oxygen. A former co-worker suffered brain damage from a heart attack- CPR from her renter saved her life but she lost a lot of her memory and is still in a long-term rehab. King is extremely lucky in this instance, but I hope to see him back at the announce table when he can make it.

This whole ordeal has made me see Cole in a new light (which means he does a really good job with his character) and I really respect the hell out of the guy. I suppose that's the one positive I've gotten from this whole situation occurring in the first place.
