So, Forrest's job was in jeopardy prior to that?

Zuffa going out of their way to fix that fight makes no sense. That'd mean they wanted Silva to win and to win big. Why? If Forrest upsets Silva, it leads him right into a big money rematch with Evans for the belt.

And Silva really needed help of promoters to beat (of all people) Forrest Griffin? come on...

Forrest is a UFC guy, he does whatever they want, this is how it probably went

"Hey Forrest, we need someone who will give Silva a fight, can you be that guy for us?", "Sure thing Boss", "Forrest, I mean REALLY give him fight, you know what the fans like", "yes sir"

This whole situation is a work.

Hendo pulls out, Jones says no to Chael, Dana throws his hands, calls Jones and says "Listen, this card is shot, we're gonna kill it, let's get in a fake PR battle to deflect the attention, we're going to bury you, but in exchange we are giving you and easy fightm and then Anderson Silva and the biggest pay day of your life. We'll find you an easy win, we'll find him an easy 205 win, and then put together the biggest title fight in UFC history. Anderson loves it, what do you think?"

I'm only half kidding. This whole thing smells.

So after Wednesday, after UFC was dealt a hand of lemons the day before when the top two matches at UFC 153 fell apart within hours of each other, and came out of it with lemonade, I woke up to...

Looks like Bonnar finally got the big fight he was looking for.

Card still looks pretty good even without Aldo.

What isn't an easy fight for Jones at this point?

I do think once they started to see some bad press from the 151 deal, they just went with it. Dana and Co. added fuel to the fire because any publicity is good publicity. Then the story isn't so much the cancellation, as it is the downfall of golden boy Bones, and people wanting to see him get beat. It's not pro wrestling, but they sure do sell it pretty damn similar. All the way down to the guy in charge injecting himself heavily and brashly.

Bonnar same thing as Forrest, UFC lifer and will be instructed to "put on a show" with Silva

Because otherwise, Bonnar is all about lay and pray.

Yeah, the bjj black belt, the LHW who will be in the biggest fight in his career will not try and take it to the ground where its his only legit chance to win

"Hey, remember how you and Forrest fought on TUF? Man that was great, wouldn't be awesome if you and Silva had a fight like that?"

Bonnar being heavily influenced to stand and trade with someone? You should post a pic of your tinfoil hat someday, Rob.

EXC did it, sounds like a great idea.

You guys really don't think this stuff happens? That's what pretty much happened in the TUF final, oh look, they both get contracts!
