Within a week, 2 Strikeforce main events canceled and 1 show canceled.

Bellator can't get here soon enough.

I blew off UFC 152. I can't even remember the last time I blew off a major league MMA event. The thing is, I was doing absolutely nothing on Saturday. The show was one illegal click away, and I didn't even bother. I watched shitty college football games that I had no rooting interest in instead.

I'm so apathetic towards Zuffa right now. They keep making fights I don't care about, and putting together shows that suck. Then half of the fights fall apart.

I agree, Bellator cant arrive soon enough. The roster is hit or miss, but I know what i'm getting with the tournaments, and the cards are almost always pretty good at worst, because nobody there is living in fear of being cut and desperately protecting their spot on the roster by point fighting and wrestlefucking.

And Ben Askren gets a pass because he's simply awesome.

That card was pretty deep. Cancelling it is pretty sad.

Funny when MMA fans bashed SF for not having enough shows and getting guys fights

Look what happened after Zuffa took over, less shows, less fights and now a cancelled show

Strikeforce puts on too many shows. That's why their guys get hurt and their cards aren't deep.

This is incredibly corny - and I'm still pissed that they bought Strikeforce.

2013 can't get here fast enough.

The cards aren't deep because Zuffa raided the roster before Showtime eventually put their foot down and enforced their end of the contract. Then Dana took his ball and went home.

The bottom line is the only reason Zuffa bought Strikeforce to begin with was to block anybody else from getting the Showtime contract. They don't give a shit. Dana took his ball and went home when Showtime put their foot down on the roster raiding, so at this point the Strikeforce brand exists only to fulfill contract commitments and to keep competitors off of a viable TV outlet.

Works out great for the fans, huh? Remember when Strikeforce was putting on 8-10 good shows per year, plus Challengers?

The baffling thing to me, is people thought the purchase was going to be great for the sport, when anybody with a smidgen of insight saw this coming. We're still waiting for the first Zuffa PRIDE show.

Dana took his ball home in March when Showtime told him to basically keep his thoughts on their production to himself.

Strikeforce's been doomed long before even then, though.

                            Furthermore.....lol

The practice/idea that any Zuffa card can be canceled if ONE FIGHT falls through is ridiculous. Not to go back to 151, but this is suppose to be the #1 promotion by far with the deepest roster of the best talent on the planet. Yet, one fight falls through and the rest of the show is such shit that the benefits of going through with it are that nil?

Even Strikeforce, I know it's third fiddle for Zuffa at this point, but what the fuck? Showtime canceled the show because the rest of the card is that bad. I know they can't control injuries and especially a week before the fight, but cards should not be this paper thin whether PPV or 'major' Showtime cards.

Whatever happened to show must go on....(as long as nobody dies...)?

Remember how Dana used to take all of those passive aggressive shots at boxing, and the idea of 'one fight shows'?
