OK, OK...here New Japan, take all my money -- 11/11 iPPV thread

It appears that New Japan is going to make all of their PPV shows into worldwide iPPVs after the success of Monday's show.

New Japan Chairman of the Board Takaaki Kidani today on twitter said that the 11/11 show from the Bodymaker Colisseum in Osaka will be on worldwide iPPV. That date will be a middle of the night Sunday morning.

The show features Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yujiro Takahashi for the IWGP heavyweight title, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Karl Anderson for the IC title and Kazuchika Okada vs. Hirooki Goto with the Jan. 4 Tokyo Dome title shot at stake.

I love how NJPW just has that "next man up" type mentality when it comes to challengers for the champion. It is something truly gone in mainstream American wrestling. It always needs to be a program. It just can't be "next guy in line" after the previous top guy loses. You end up with Champion versus Contender A over and over again...its dull. NJPW gives you pretty fresh matchups and these guys aren't hurt by losing to the champ. NJPW has a really strong upper card...so guys just drop down, have another good match, move on to another good match...and there you go...

Tanahashi will end up fighting Okada three times in a year...each one special and unique and good...but it doesn't seem stale at all. Tanahashi will have wrestled Suzuki what...3 times in 14 months...none stale, and they just has a special match. It works. American wrestling needs to get to that.

Former mid card babyface who was the tag team partner of Naito. They held both the IWGP jr tag & IWGP heavyweight titles at various points, once at the same time. They teamed together in TNA a few years ago too while on excursion, but mostly on Xplosion.

When they got back to New Japan, Naito was targeted as the future star, so they split them up. Takahashi went heel, Naito face. Naito obviously blew up into a major star, Takahashi stayed in the middle.

Good worker, kinda bland though, most figured he would face Tanahashi at some point because he beat him during G1. He beat Naito on Monday and they did the injury angle to put him over strong. He'll lose to Tanahashi and then Naito will have the built in program for his return.
