Remember, if you happen to be awake, they will show at least one match for free:

    1. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title: Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov (c) vs. Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA

    Last time, they showed four.

Lance Hoyt just tweeted that it starts in 3 hours. That would be 3 eastern, but last time it started at 4. Let me double check.

Damn. I can stay up until 3...but staying up until 6, when its over, is the problem.

If you're watching, lemme know if it is worth the purchase after. I mean, this thing should be up on daily motion within 36 hours...so, I'd prefer not to pay.

Nah, im not buying either, im probably watching the free match and then rolling the dice on avoiding spoilers until it pops up someplace. I'll be busy with football and hoops tmw anyway so i'm not going to pay for it since I cant watch till Monday anyway, and it will probably be on DM by then.

                    There's the card.

                    1. It can't not be good.
                    2. Requisite New Japan multi man prelim. Move along.
                    3. Sleeper match if they get time. Nagata is still floundering with no story.
                    4. Rematch for TenKoji. I expect another dominant win for the foreigners.
                    5. Awesome. Many thought they might wait to do this at Tokyo Dome.
                    6. Another rematch. Meh. Not my cup of tea.
                    7. Okada will retain the briefcase, and it will be awesome.
                    8. Could see a title change here. Should be good.
                    9. Placeholder title defense. Tanahashi is the best in the world, he will make it work.
I've seen everything except the main event. I was awake last night so I bought it. Watched half last night and the rest today because the NFL is putting me to sleep.

                    1. Good match with great action. Typical short junior opener. Fun.
                    2. Exactly what you would expect. Nothing match. Half the guys didn't tag in. Lots of brawling.
                    3. I enjoyed this. GREAT finish. I'd like to see Suzuki & Nagata at Tokyo Dome
                    4. Exactly what you would expect. Same match as last month.
                    5. This was very good. Liked it a little better than Low Ki/Ibushi from last month.
                    6. Similar to the same match last month. Maybe a little better. Setting up Togi Makabe vs Shibata at Dome it looks like.
                    7. Very good match.
                    8. Very good match. Whenever these NJPW upper mid card types are in a match, it's very good at minimum.
                    9. about to watch it right now

I love the hype video, showing Takahashi hanging out with strippers, smoking, and doing the universal sign for cunnilingus, while Tanahashi hangs with little kids and kisses swooning teenage girls on the cheek.

Great match. **** easy, maybe more. Takahashi more than held up his end.

It really speaks to the depth of this roster that a guy like Takahashi is buried so deep in the midcard.

Overall, a very good show, but as expected, not quite as good as last month. Every match delivered to almost the exact expectations you would expect. Watch the matches you figured would be good, and you wont be let down.

On the positive side, the buzz couldn't have possibly been better from the first show. Universal praise and probably the show of the year. I think New Japan actually made new fans last month (Fed being a good example). The stream itself was flawless and the picture quality was top notch. Great customer service as well. This card will also be late Saturday/early Sunday, as opposed to late Sunday/early Monday, which is an advantage.

On the negative side, the first time out is always a novelty. Also, Takahashi is a weak challenger. Much of the rest of the card is similar if not identical to last month. So this is a weaker card overall. Plus everybody knows WrestleKingdom is coming up and anybody who is going to buy a New Japan PPV is going to likely buy that and may lead to them skipping this one.

I say the numbers drop. I'l go with 50,000 total, 400 international. I think if they match or exceed the numbers from last month, it's a massive success and WrestleKingdom could do 80,000+.
49,624 domestic, 718 international as of a few minutes ago.

Late replay buys will trickle in but they will finish close to this. So I nailed the total, but misread the international badly. The numbers make sense because they were going to do less in Japan with the weaker card, but the great buzz helped them retain buyers and pick up a few extras internationally.

Yujiro said that Tanahashi must get a sex change and become a shemale if he loses.

Tanahashi, of course takes great offense to this. It's disturbed Tanahashi's wife greatly, apparently.
                            LOL.

Also, Tag League Final confirmed for iPPV in December. Then it's time for WrestleKingdom.

STRONG STYLE SPIRIT, get on board people

                              Some links, por favor.

This is the last event I need to watch before I assemble THE BEST OF 2012.

                                New numbers

                                PPV: 50,124
                                iPPV: 724

This show will come in about 6,000 less total than King of Pro Wrestling, but international iPPV is up about 100 buys, which has to be attributed to word of mouth.

It will be interesting what the tag league finals will do in December, because there may not be a Tanahashi title match. Tanahashi is teaming with Capt. New Japan, and Okada is teaming with Yoshi-Hashi, so neither will be in the mix at the end of the tournament. Probably some sort of goofy six man match where Okada might pin Tanahashi to set up Tokyo Dome.

I think Tokyo Dome can do 1,000 international orders easy based on the growth we've seen so far. Tough to read Japan, I don't know if 50,000 is the loyal base that will buy everything, but of there is a WrestleMania type casual fan bump i'd say 80,000 based on the percentage bump we see in WWE, but again I don't know due to the cultural differences in PPV.
