Dana said that GSP doesn't ask for much, so he feels like he has to do it. Silva and Hendricks will have to wait.
Hendricks violently KOs Fitch and Kampmann and scrapes by Kos and STILL can't get a break. Hendricks is going to have to win another match (and learn how to talk shit in the interim).
UFC doesn't give a shit about making people earn belts. Thank goodness we have Bellator.

What pisses me off is if they do this, Diaz doesn't even have to win a fight? Guys just coming off a year long suspension for his second positive piss test. His last win is Oct. 2011.
Dana said GSP asked for Diaz, and since GSP has always been a team player and has never asked for anything, he is going to grant him this and make the fight.
Guys, use your brains & read between the lines here. This is a back door deal between Dana & GSP. GSP is scared that Silva is going to beat the drawing power out of him, so he wants to make sure he gets his big money Diaz fight before he takes the enormous money Silva fight which he thinks he's going to lose. He probably told Dana i'll fight Silva, but I want Diaz first. He's not going to fight Hendricks, make less money, and risk two big money fights by potentially losing.

Look at it this way. GSP/Hendricks is easily last of the three in terms of what fights will make the most money. What sense does it make to make that fight, especially since Hendricks is a live opponent and could win? If Hendricks wins, GSP/Silva is out the window, and GSP/Diaz would probably happen next but draw far less due to the GSP loss.
So GSP/Diaz is the best fight for GSP right now. It's the second biggest fight he can make, and it's the fight he is most likely to win.

I think we're all well aware of what's going on here, no one was saying otherwise. Doesn't make it any less frustrating.
